Reports say the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes divorce settlement not only gives her primary custody of their daughter, she also held out for a ‘nanny clause’ guaranteeing Suri will travel between parents accompanied by one consistent nanny in Katie’s employ (the NY Yankees should check her out; this lady hit a grand slam!) . . . Kim Kardashian’s ex, Kris Humphries, just got a break – his ex-girlfriend Myla Sinanaj is denying recent reports that he knocked her up, claiming she’s not even pregnant (aw, it’s just a li’l muffin-top) . . . It’s been announced that “Mockingjay”, the final movie in “The Hunger Games” series, will be split into 2 parts with the 1st opening in theaters November 21, 2014 (they haven’t even printed calendars for us to write that on yet) . . . Cobain-drain Courtney Love is facing yet another legal wrangle with a former assistant, with Jessica LaBrie filing a lawsuit claiming Love withheld her salary because she refused to ‘commit fraudulent, unlawful, and unethical acts’ (does assisting Courtney count?) . . . A rep for 27-year-old actress Scarlett Johansson claims the guy who’s been pictured in a skimpy Speedo lying next to her on a yacht in Italy is just her ‘security guard’ (he’s apparently allowed to stroke her face and touch her tummy) . . . And wanna feel really old? “Melrose Place” debuted on TV 20 years ago this week (that ‘young babe’ Heather Locklear is now a middle-aged babe of 51).
BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Carly Rae Jepsen – She’s making her 1st appearance on a TV series in the upcoming 5th season premiere of “90210” (CW), airing October 8th. She’ll be performing a song from her new album.
• Coldplay – A 6-issue mini-series of comics based on last year’s album “Mylo Xyloto” is coming from Bongo Comics. The band says the creation of the character ‘Mylo Xyloto’ came from discussions with their friend, director Mark Osbourne. The 1st issue is being released at Comic Con.
• Green Day – A pair of film documentaries are expected to be released in conjunction with their trilogy of new albums (¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, and ¡Tre!) between late September and mid-January.
• The Killers – The band’s new album, “Battle Born”, now has an official release date. It will drop on September 18th.
• Miranda Lambert – She’s had to postpone more shows due to vocal issues, including this weekend’s Atlanta concert and 2 gigs in Alabama. She says she’s sorry to disappoint fans but she needs to take care of her voice. The shows are already re-scheduled for October.
• Rolling Stones – Today a 50th anniversary photo book, aptly titled “The Rolling Stones: 50”, is being published. It features a whopping 700 illustrations and other mementoes curated by the band themselves.
• Van Halen – David Lee Roth has addressed rumors they’ll perform at next year’s Super Bowl halftime show, saying they’d love to … but haven’t been asked. Quote: “We are not on Commissioner Goodell’s dance card at this time, but we would be most honored to dance the halftime away in New Orleans.”

• “Big Brother” (CBS) – Season 14 debuts with another cast of strangers attempting to cohabitate in a house filled with cameras and microphones.
• Comic-Con International (San Diego) – The annual 4-day convention for comic book fans has expanded over the years to become a preview venue for upcoming movies. Today the cast from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2” presents a sneak peek of the film and Disney hosts a panel featuring directors Tim Burton and Sam Raimi. Other stars expected to make appearances this weekend: Colin Farrell, Kate Beckinsale, Jessica Biel, and Bryan Cranston.

• “Black Nativity” – After sharing the Broadway stage in “The Mountaintop”, Samuel L Jackson and Angela Bassett are in negotiations to reteam for this film based on Langston Hughes’ gospel musical first performed on Broadway in 1961. Singer-actress Jennifer Hudson is also in talks to join the cast.
• “Brother From Another Mother” – John Hamburg, who most recently wrote and directed the Paul Rudd-Jason Segal bromance comedy “I Love You, Man”, wrote the script and is attached to direct this comedy about 2 estranged step-brothers – one brilliant but aimless, the other a precocious and sheltered teen – who are thrust together on a road trip. No casting as yet.
• “Don Jon’s Addiction” – Joseph Gordon-Levitt stars and makes his directorial debut in this dark comedy about a young man who resolves to become a less selfish person after meeting a recently widowed older woman (Julianne Moore). The cast also includes “21 Jump Street” actress Brie Larson, Scarlett Johansson, and Tony Danza.
• “Life of Evel” – “Magic Mike” star Channing Tatum is in negotiations to produce and star in a bio-film about daredevil Evel Knievel, the stuntman who became a household name in the 1970s for his nationally-televised motorcycle jumps. Along the way he suffered 433 broken bones. Knievel died in 2007 at the age of 69.
• “Stretch Armstrong” – Breck Eisner (“Sahara”) is in talks to direct a movie based on the classic Hasbro toy that was introduced in 1976. It was different from other action figures in that he could be stretched, twisted, and folded but always returned to his original form. At one time Taylor Lautner (“Twilight Saga”) was attached to star, but he’s apparently no longer involved.
JAGGER REVEALED:
Highlights form Christopher Andersen’s unauthorized biography, “Mick: The Wild Life and Mad Genius of Jagger”, which was released yesterday …
✓ Queen Elizabeth II avoided personally giving Jagger his knighthood in 2003 because she thought he was an inappropriate candidate. She had Prince Charles dub him Sir Mick instead.
✓ The Queen is also said to have disliked Jagger’s relationship with her sister, the late Princess Margaret.
✓ Jagger has fathered 7 children by 4 different women.
✓ He had a long-term love affair with fellow musician David Bowie in the 1970s. A backup singer reportedly told a friend the twosome were ‘sexually obsessed’ with one another.
✓ Jagger is also said to have had an affair with Carla Bruni, the wife of former French president Nicolas Sarkozy, and courted Angelina Jolie with ‘desperate phone calls’ for 2 years.

PROTECTIVE PETS:
New research shows that a dog can be a baby’s best friend … by preventing infections. The Kuopio University study tracked some 400 children living in both urban and rural areas of Finland in an attempt to determine if contact with pets during a baby’s 1st year offers protection from respiratory tract infections, such as colds and common ear infections. The results show that toddlers with dogs at home tend to be healthier, with less need for antibiotics. That may be because dogs tend to bring dirt and bacteria into the home, which researchers believe builds up babies’ immune systems. (Ah, the wonders of dog spit!)
