BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Demi Lovato is engaged. She made the announcement on Instagram, posting a series of photos with actor Max Ehrich and a caption that included the words “I knew I loved you the moment I met you.” While the pair have not been dating long, they reportedly grew closer while social distancing together amid pandemic. In May, Lovato and Ehrich were among the many couples to be featured in the music video for Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande’s song ‘Stuck with U’. In the video, the pair share a romantic kiss — marking the first time Lovato publicly confirmed their relationship.

★ “Big Brother” is bringing on the All-Stars. The pandemic shut down initial plans for the summer CBS show earlier this year, but the network is reportedly set to return for an All-Stars season in a few weeks. A number of fan-favorite players arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday, where they will be tested and quarantined. A core list and alternate list of houseguests were invited before any solid casting choices are made, and contestants must test negative after their two weeks in isolation to be eligible.

★ “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” will reportedly not include Kanye West’s recent controversial comments and tweets in its upcoming season in order to respect the West family’s privacy during this difficult time. TMZ is reporting that, “Kim made the decision none of it would be used as a storyline on the show,” and production sources have confirmed she doesn’t want Kanye’s mental health to be “exploited for ratings or good TV drama.” Production has also been told not to film Kim and Kanye’s kids because Kim doesn’t want them to see the footage in the future. However, the Kardashians ARE still filming in general right now—but they’re “following other storylines” at the moment. This news comes after Kim released a statement on Instagram, requesting empathy for Kanye.

★ Dave Franco has confirmed he will portray Vanilla Ice in an upcoming biopic. The film — named after Rob “Vanilla Ice” Van Winkle’s 1990 debut album “To the Extreme” — is currently in preproduction due to the pandemic. Franco says he is in touch with the rapper on a regular basis. Quote: “Rob is such a sweet and intelligent guy and he’s been super helpful in the process of getting all the details correct and making us privy to information the public doesn’t know.”

ANOTHER LIFE IN A DAY:
Moviemakers Ridley Scott and Kevin Macdonald are making a sequel to their 2010 YouTube feature “Life In A Day”, which featured crowd-sourced footage to create a portrait of the world in one day. Now, they are calling on millions of people around the world to film their lives TOMORROW. They suggest you keep your camera or smartphone handy whether you have something special happening, like a birthday, or another special occasion, or if its just a typical day for you…going to work or hanging out at home. The footage will be whittled down and woven together in a documentary to be directed by MacDonald which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival and on YouTube in 2021. It is produced by Scott’s RSA Films in association with Flying Object. The original Life In A Day film was recorded in July 2010 to mark YouTube’s fifth birthday. The documentary attracted 80,000 submissions and premiered at Sundance in 2011, followed by a release in theaters. It has since been watched on YouTube more than 16 million times.

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ Spanish glassblower Miguel Arribas spent about 500 hours making the world’s largest glass-blown sculpture, a castle fashioned after Cinderella’s castle, but it took a couple of children just a fraction of a second to ruin it. Arribas’ Fantasy Castle exhibit at the Shanghai Museum of Glass was broken to pieces after two children accidentally knocked it down after crossing the belt barrier while playing inside the museum. The masterpiece was created using 500,000 glass loops, weighed 60 kilograms and featured spires made with 24-karat gold. It was made up of approximately 30,000 parts and was worth an estimated $65,000. (And this is why those kids’ family can’t have nice things!)
➢ A Minneapolis MN resident is offering a reward after losing her car during a drunken bender. A Reddit user posted a pic of a sign posted in a Twin Cities neighborhood saying: “I got too drunk, parked my car, and rode with a friend. We think it’s somewhere in the northern parts of Hennepin County, parked on a residential street.” The poster lists a number to call if the 2007 Toyota Camry is spotted, and offers an unspecified reward. By the way, the “the northern parts of Hennepin County” is estimated to be about 600 square miles. (I hope he put up more than one poster!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Toronto family lawyer Ron Shulman says his firm has seen a 40% increase in divorce inquiries since the pandemic began. While it’s not surprising that the stress of the pandemic caused some relationships to break down, Shulman says: “Most of these couples had a shaky foundation with their relationships when the pandemic began, and with the COVID-19 crisis, everything got significantly amplified…that’s what we see from the increase of clients calling in.”

TODAY’S BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “Cousins Day”, to honor cousins who are living and pay homage to those who aren’t. (You might as well enjoy them, because you’re stuck with them, and there’s nothing you can do about it!)
• “Drive-Thru Day”, honoring the businesses that allow you to shop without leaving your vehicle. There are drive-thru banks, coffee shops, fast-food restaurants, florists, ice cream bars, liquor stores, marriage chapels (Las Vegas), and pharmacies. What’s the weirdest you’ve seen? Ours is a funeral home.
• “Tell an Old Joke Day”, a good excuse to dust off your best chicken-crossing-the-road zinger (***and ask listeners to tell their best jokes … but only if they’re under 5-years-old***) What do you call a bear with no teeth? A gummy bear! What do you call cheese that isn’t yours? Nacho cheese!
• “Tequila Day”, celebrating Mexico’s national booze that’s becoming increasingly popular in other drinks beside margaritas. But we still like it the old-fashioned way – a little salt, a slice of lime and … ay caramba!
• “Amelia Earhart Day”, honoring the famous aviation pioneer who was born on this date in 1897. During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937, she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean. Theories and conspiracies still exist about the cause of her disappearance.
SATURDAY-
• “Hot Fudge Sundae Day”, an annual excuse to indulge in this decadent hot n’cold dessert. (And they couldn’t have arranged to have this on a Sunday?)
• “Merry-Go-Round Day” (or “Carousel Day”), the anniversary of the mechanical carousel’s patent in 1871 by William Schneider of Davenport, Iowa. He did not invent it, however, as carousel rides may go back as far as 500 AD. (I like to call it a ‘horse tornado’!)
• “Wine and Cheese Day”. Oh, all right … if we have to.
• “Culinarians Day”, a special day to salute anyone who cooks. (I cook. But no one would call me a culinarian!)
• “Thread the Needle Day”, a day for those who sew. The term “thread the needle”, also means to either walk a fine and difficult line between two things or issues, or to do something difficult.
• “Red Shoe Day”, in memory of Australian Lyme disease patient, Theda Myint, who died on July 25, 2013. It is an annual remembrance since 2014 not only for Theda, but for all those lost to Lyme and other invisible illnesses worldwide.
SUNDAY-
• “All or Nothing Day”. This is it, folks – balls to the wall, give ’er all you’ve got, the time has arrived, take no prisoners, it’s now or never, bring your ‘A’ game, give 110% … and any other hackneyed self-help cliché you can think of. (Or just relax.)
• “Aunts & Uncles Day”, honoring a very special pair of relatives. Among other things, they may be …
✓ Someone you can talk to about things you can’t discuss with parents.
✓ Your backup caretaker when mom & dad went out, or were at work.
✓ Real characters at family get-togethers.
✓ Someone who has taken you to fun places and events.
✓ Someone whose house was a great place for a sleep-over, especially if you have cousins.
✓ The ones who’ve given you great gifts for special occasions.
✓ Someone who always had candy.
• “Coffee Milkshake Day”, celebrating the Summer cooler that’s also a pick-me-up.
• “Bagelfest Day”, this crunchy on the outside and chewy in the middle bread can be served with a variety of toppings, as well as produced in a variety of flavors. What’s your favorite?

TODAY’S SLICE OF BS:
➠ Walmart will close its stores on Thanksgiving, ending a Black Friday tradition that drew huge crowds for years. (Great! Now I have to find some other place that will allow my tent and portable BBQ for two weeks in November…)
➠ Dr Fauci threw out the first pitch of the 2020 MLB season last night as the Yankees faced the Nationals in DC. (Because the game was played in a National League park, he also had to bat.)
➠ Prince George of Cambridge (7) shared a birthday with David Spade (56) on Wednesday. (George and Spade are very different, of course. One is an adorable little thing, unjustifiably rich for accomplishing so very little. And the other is the Prince…)
➠ Alex Rodriguez turns 45 on Monday. (It’s not too late for a gift. He’s registered at Bed Bath & Beyond Pretentious!)
➠ A confronted drunk driver in England urinated at police through the mail slot of his front door but wasn’t arrested as officers didn’t enter the property fearing their own safety. (Good thing, as it appears he has a pretty good grasp of the Penal System anyway…)
