BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Pete Davidson recently revealed that he’s getting his tattoos removed, and says the process is not only incredibly painful, but embarrassing, thanks to some questionable designs he picked out when he was younger, thanks to some questionable designs he picked out when he was younger. Luckily, the “SNL” star has found a way to capitalize on his tattoo regrets. He teamed up with smartwater and helped launched the first-ever Rehydration Day on Monday. He appears in a clip where he wonders if all of his bad decisions (including runway modeling and using hoverboards) could be attributed to dehydration. Davidson says his tattoos should be “all gone” in about 2 years.

★ Although the box office has yet to fully recover from the pandemic, at least one studio had a good reason to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend. Universal Pictures has the top three films at the domestic box office with “F9,” “The Boss Baby: Family Business” and “The Forever Purge,” according to studio estimates. It’s the first time that’s happened for Universal since 1989, when “Sea of Love,” “Parenthood” and “Uncle Buck” topped the charts, and the first time for any studio since 2005. As expected, the “Fast & Furious” sequel “F9” maintained the top spot, adding an estimated $33 million, bringing its domestic total to $125.8 million.

★ Quentin Tarantino has some regrets about his time with Harvey Weinstein. In a new interview, he addressed his previous comments about knowing of Weinstein’s sexual harassment long before the #MeToo movement. After Weinstein’s arrest, he told the New York Times, “I knew enough to do more than I did.” In the new interview with Joe Rogan, Tarantino said: “I wish I had talked to him. I wish I had sat him down and gone, ‘Harvey, you can’t do this…” Weinstein was arrested in 2018 and charged with rape and other offences after more than 80 women came forward with allegations. He was later sentenced to 23 years in prison.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Selena Gomez – has teamed up with La’Mariette to launch her own swimwear line. She was approached by brand to create 6 different designs, the result of which she says is all about “celebrating the fact that all bodies are beautiful.”
• Billie Eilish – This Friday, she’ll release another song from her upcoming “Happier Than Ever” album. ‘NDA’ will be the 5th single from the album, set for release on July 30.
• Imagine Dragons — Have announced that they will release the album “Mercury – Act 1” on Sept. 3. The group also shared the new song, ‘Wrecked’, which follows the album’s previously released tunes ‘Follow You’ and ‘Cutthroat’.
• Britney Spears – her sister Jamie Lynn has demanded a stop to the death threats she and her children have received following Britney’s explosive conservatorship hearing. After Jamie Lynn took to social media to share how “proud” she was of her big sister, some people insisted she should have spoken out sooner – and the backlash led to threats against her family, including her two kids.
• Belinda Carlisle — never listens to her own music. She told an interviewer that she avoids her own songs and will only revisit them if she is preparing for a tour to get the arrangements and melodies right. Carlisle says she hasn’t listened to her debut solo LP, 1986’s “Belinda”, for 20 years.
• Mötley Crüe — Nikki Sixx marked 20 years of sobriety on Friday with an encouraging message to those still struggling with addiction. Using the hashtag #sobrietyrocks, he shared an image of his 12 Steps personal clock, which showed he’d stayed sober for 240 months (or 7,306 days or 175,319 hours).
• Heavy Metal Television — The world’s longest-running streaming video channel for hard rock and heavy metal music videos and content, officially relaunched yesterday. Programming has been integrated into the channel’s Facebook page, and “refocused to the needs of the modern metalhead.” HMT also has a new, state-of-the-art web site. LINK: http://www.heavymetaltelevision.net/
• Donny Osmond – will release “Start Again”, his first full-length solo album in 7 years, this September. The title was inspired by Osmond’s career journey of constant reinvention.
• Tim McGraw and Faith Hill — have sold their historic Southern manor home outside of Nashville. They unloaded the 620-acre farm in the rural community of Franklin, and several historic structures located on it, for $15 million. One of the homes on the property was once owned by Hank Williams.
• Midland – will release the 5-song EP “The Last Resort” on July 16. It will include the song ‘Sunrise Tells the Story’, a retelling of a night of passion with a random stranger, and a reflection of whether it will turn into a longer relationship.
• Travis Tritt — won’t be watching the Olympics. In what seems to be a response to Gwen Berry’s protest during her third-place finish in the U.S. Olympic Trials for the hammer throw, turning her back to the flag on the podium, Tritt tweeted: “I’ve always been a huge supporter of our USA Olympic teams. I was actually onstage at the Olympics in Atlanta the night before the bombing in 1996. I won’t be watching this year,” with the hashtag “Go woke go broke”.
SHOOTING THE BULL
A LONG WEEKEND EVERY WEEKEND:
The largest-ever trial of the 4-day work week has been an “overwhelming success” and should be implemented, according to experts. The test, which took place in Iceland, involved about 1% of the country’s 350,000 people. It saw people working about 35-36 hours per week, spread over 4 days, with no reduction in pay. The results of the pilot, which ran between 2015-19, were then analyzed by research teams from both Iceland and the UK. They discovered that the more than 2,500 people who took part saw their productivity – and wellbeing — increase. As a result, Icelandic workers’ unions have already started to negotiate for fewer working hours.
(Perfect. So, is our morning show going to be Mon.-Thurs. or Tues.-Fri.?)
([***Co-host***] is all for the 4-day week. He sure doesn’t think much of the idea of working 35 hours a week, though!)
(I thought this was an awesome idea until I realized that teachers are going to want an extra day off as well!)

OLD NEWS:
While more adults are reaching 100 years-old every decade, far fewer make it to the milestone of 110. But a new study says that may soon change. Researchers from the University of Washington say their estimates show human lifespans are about to push into uncharted territory. They predict that not only will someone break the record for being the oldest living human, it’s almost certain that “supercentenarians” will start living into their 120s this century. In fact, their complicated calculations determined that there is a 99% chance that someone will live to 122 years before 2100, and an 89% chance that someone will hit the age of 126. Currently, the record for the oldest human belongs to Jeanne Calment of France, who died at the age of 122 in 1997. Kane Tanaka of Japan is the oldest living person, at 118.
(But stay tuned for updates on that…)
(So, please pause and consider what kind of a world you’ll be leaving for your grandparents…)
(They’re talking about living to 120, and I can honestly say I barely made it through Monday!)

TIKTOK TALK:
TikToks are about to get longer. The short form video app announced last week that it is going to triple its time limit on uploads — allowing users to post vids up to 3 minutes long. TikTok currently has a one-minute limit. Product manager Drew Kirchhoff said the decision will enhance users’ creative storytelling abilities. Three-minute videos have been in testing at least since December with some top TikTok creators, particularly in categories like cooking. The option is expected to be rolled out to all users over the “coming weeks”.
(Awesome. Now my kid can spend three times as long on TikTok before he gets out of bed in the morning…)
(Now, I can finally watch the entire length of Ke$ha’s song ‘TikTok’ on TikTok!)

DID YOU KNOW?
A priest says exorcisms are on the rise and demons are now able to haunt their victims via text message. Washington, DC Monsignor Stephen Rossetti says he and his team perform up to 20 exorcisms each week, and in one case, a young woman reached out, saying her dad was receiving “snarky” text messages from demons, which appeared to be coming from her phone number. The texts were typical demonic fare, saying things like “She belongs to us”. Rossetti says that several other exorcists have also dealt with people who were receiving texts from demons, and as he points out, “Why not? In the past they messed with electronics — TVs and lights turning off and on by themselves. Now they mess with cellphones.”
