Deja Moo!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ “Jeopardy!” champ James Holzhauer may have been dethroned after a 33-day run on the show, but at least he still has his sense of humor. Once word of his defeat spread across the Internet, he decided to have a little fun with it, tweeting: “Knew I shouldn’t have invited @Drake to the @Jeopardy taping.” Holzhauer was, of course, referencing the “Drake Curse”, where teams and athletes that Drake root for tend to lose. It happened again on Saturday night when heavyweight champ Anthony Joshua suffered a shocking upset defeat.
(I think Drake is rooting for my career…)

★ Nicolas Cage’s four-day marriage is officially over. He was granted a divorce by a Clark County, Nev. judge on Friday. Cage married Erika Koike in a Las Vegas wedding on March 23 and filed for annulment just four days after, claiming that he “lacked understanding of his actions in marrying Koike to the extent that he was incapable of agreeing to the marriage.” She later asked for spousal support, but it is unclear if Cage is required to pay, according to their divorce settlement.

★ Jennifer Aniston may be coming clean about her romantic past. The “Friends” alum is reportedly thinking about dishing on her failed romances in an upcoming interview. The tell-all discussion would include revelations about Aniston’s marriages to Brad Pitt and Justin Theroux. She has largely kept quiet about her marriages and why they have failed. Inside sources, however, say that is about to change. Reports are that she has been doing a lot of self-reflection lately and wants the world to know what really went down in her marriages.

★ Tracy Morgan has been named host of the 2019 ESPYS. The sports awards show will be broadcast live on ABC on July 10 from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ESPYS help to raise awareness and funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research, the charity founded by ESPN and the late basketball coach Jim Valvano at the first ESPYS in 1993. ESPN has helped raise close to $97 million for the V Foundation over the past 26 years.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Jay-Z – is officially hip-hop’s first billionaire. According to Forbes, he “has accumulated a fortune that conservatively totals $1 billion, making him one of only a handful of entertainers to become a billionaire—and the first hip-hop artist to do so.”
• Miley Cyrus — had a frightening moment with a fan in Barcelona. When she and husband Liam Hemsworth were leaving their hotel, they were met by a swarm of fans. But as captured in a video on social media, one man grabbed Cyrus, put his arm around her neck, and tried to kiss her. She and a security guard pushed the man away.
• Fergie – is asking a judge to restore her former name of Stacy Ann Ferguson. She made the request in divorce documents where she also asks that the judge terminate the court’s ability to award support for both her and Josh Duhamel. She legally switched to her stage name, Fergie Duhamel, in August 2013.
• Spice Girls – may embark on a world tour once they have completed their UK stadium dates, according to manager Simon Fuller.  Quote: ”That is really down to the girls. We can kick into gear at 24 hours’ notice…I’d say it’s 50/50; if it happens, great, if it doesn’t, then it’s all been good.”
• Madonna – Her son David Banda showed off his pipes with a rendition of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ in a video that she posted to Twitter. David not only sang, but he also played the piano for the “living room sessions”.
• David Bowie — The 50th anniversary of his 1969 single, ‘Space Oddity’ will be celebrated with a new release of the legendary song. The box set will include a special double 7” single of the song featuring brand new mixes by Tony Visconti. Also included: a double-sided poster featuring an original “Space Oddity” print advertisement, an information card and a print featuring an alternative shot from the ‘Space Oddity’ promo single cover session, and other rare photos.
• Luke Combs – now has his own style of Crocs. The limited-edition Classic Luke Combs Clog also features Jibbitz charms inspired by Combs. Designs include a license plate that reads “bootlegger.” Fans can purchase the limited-edition shoes at CMA Fest 2019, which starts tomorrow and runs through the weekend.
• Luke Bryan — is heading back to rural America for his annual “Farm Tour”. He will perform in six small towns beginning Sept. 26th in Marshall, Wisconsin. He will also play concerts on actual farms in Michigan, Ohio, Kansas and Oklahoma. The idea behind the tour is to bring full production concerts to small towns that would not otherwise see larger scale shows.

AIR (CHARGING) PORTS:
Have you ever been at an airport, waiting and waiting for your flight, and slowly seeing your phone battery’s charge dwindling down, down, down…and then you see it!  An airport charging station!  It’s like a modern-day lifeline.  Well, not so fast. Security experts are warning travelers to think twice about using airport charging stations., because of a new scam called “juice jacking.” That’s when hackers secretly modify the USB ports to install malware on your phone or steal your data. Just by your plugging in, hackers can steal data, text messages, pictures, and email from your phone. And IBM security expert Charles Henderson says that unless you are very technically savvy, it is very difficult to detect such an attack. It is recommended that you bring your own charger or portable battery with you to the airport so you can avoid using public USB ports.
(I’ve got a feeling these guys are spending a lot of time going through other people’s vacation photos!)
(Now I have to worry about my data getting hacked AND my luggage getting jacked?)
(Why not?  I get robbed at every other place I go in the airport!)

NEW VIEW ON BREW:
We haven’t had a new, contradictory story on the health effects of coffee in a while…so here goes:  Drinking coffee might not be as bad for the heart as previously thought, according to a new study. Scientists at University of London say their study of 8,400 adults shows that even drinking 25 cups of coffee per day is not linked to stiffer arteries, contrary to the results of previous studies. Stiff, or hard arteries could heighten the risk of heart attacks and stroke, so if coffee doesn’t contribute to it, that’s a good thing. Co-author Kenneth Fung said: “Despite the huge popularity of coffee worldwide, different reports could put people off from enjoying it…our research indicates coffee isn’t as bad for the arteries as previous studies would suggest.” The findings were consistent in both caffeinated and non-caffeinated coffees, likely meaning caffeine isn’t the main factor in long-term health benefits of the drink.
(But caffeine definitely has a short-term effect on the heart!)
(Did they ever consider that the problem might not be the coffee, but all the sugar and  heavy cream that we top it up with?)
(Coffee only gives me a heart attack when I accidentally leave it on the roof of my car!)

GROCERY STORE HACKS:
➠ Bulk isn’t just for large families:  Try buying the essential things in bulk. You’ll spend less and avoid extra trips to the store.  Make sure you have a list. (I have teenagers. Everything is on the list.)
➠ Look at lower shelves first:  That’s where the most cost-effective products are. Grocery stores put the more expensive products at eye-level. The generic and store brands are put on the lowest shelves, making them seem inferior. (And if you have to ask what’s on the top shelf, you can’t afford it!)
➠ Organize your list based on where items are located in the store:  If you know you need apples and oranges for your fruit salad on Monday, but also need tomatoes and peppers for your spaghetti on Wednesday, put them on the list together. That way you don’t have to double back to the produce section as you work your way down the list. (Or ask your grocer to conveniently organize the store in the order of your list…)
➠ Stick to the outer perimeter of the store:  Fresh produce, butcher section, dairy section, and bakery all tend to be around the outside edges of the store. Go around the perimeter first, and then go down the middle rows if you really need some “not-so” essentials.
➠ Become friends with the butcher:  Ask him what time of day meat is typically marked down.  Meat is discounted when it’s approaching the sell-by date. And usually, a large cut of meat will be cheaper than the same amount cut into smaller pieces. But some butchers will be happy to cut it into smaller pieces for free, especially if you’re buddies! (I try to become friends with any guy who has unlimited access to sharp knives!)
➠ Don’t let sales trick you! Read the fine print:  If a sale says five for $10, don’t feel obligated to buy all five. Check the store policy. Usually you will get the same discount even if you buy fewer. The same goes for limits. A sale might say the limit is six, but that might to entice you to buy the maximum. Only buy what you need.  (Are you telling me I don’t need six birthday cakes?)

DID YOU KNOW?
Signs of extraterrestrial life have been found in South Africa. Researchers studying a volcanic deposit have discovered a rock layer containing trace evidence of extraterrestrial organic matter from over 3.3 billion years ago. While the finding doesn’t necessarily mean that our planet was visited long ago by beings from another planet, it may support the theory that carbon-rich meteors crashed to earth’s surface, depositing life-forming matter onto the planet.
(…making us ALL aliens…)
