BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ There’s finally been a break in the mysterious case of the coffee cup left in a “Game of Thrones” season 8 scene. Sophie Turner appeared on “Conan” to set the record straight about which of her co-stars left the Starbucks-like cup in frame on the set. She told O’Brien that contrary to popular belief, it wasn’t Emilia Clarke’s fault. The takeaway cup did appear in front of her during the episode, but it was actually left on the table by none other than Kit Harrington, Clarke’s on-screen nephew/love-interest.

★ Sigourney Weaver says she will reprise her role as “hauntee” Dana Barrett in Jason Reitman’s upcoming “Ghostbusters” project, reuniting with Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. She starred in 1984’s “Ghostbusters” as well the 1989 sequel, and had a cameo in the 2016 all-female reboot starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy. Sony has slated Jason Reitman’s sequel to be released on July 20, 2020.

★ Just over a year after first cryptically alluding to “multiple physical assaults” on the NCIS set, Pauley Perrette has shed more light on her claims — and in doing do put series lead Mark Harmon in the crosshairs. In a Friday tweet that didn’t appear to be in response to anything in particular, Perette wrote: “NO I AM NOT COMING BACK! EVER! (Please stop asking?) I am terrified of Harmon and him attacking me. I have nightmares about it.”

★ The “Fast & Furious” family is expanding. John Cena is the latest star to join the popular film franchise. Cena confirmed his involvement in the upcoming installment, writing on Twitter: “For nearly 20 years, the Fast Franchise has entertained fans and created some of the biggest cinematic moments in history. It’s an incredible honor to join this franchise and this family.” While Cena’s role in the film is being kept under wraps, he will star opposite veterans Vin Diesel and Michelle Rodriguez, who are reprising their roles as Dom Toretto and Letty Ortiz.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Jennifer Lopez—kicked off her “It’s My Party: The Live Celebration” tour in Los Angeles on Friday night. Between the huge dance numbers and elaborate costume changes, Lopez slowed it down to perform the song ‘Limitless’ from her movie “Second Act” as a duet with her 10-year-old daughter Emme.
• Drake and Chris Brown – put aside their past rivalries to collaborate on the new song ‘No Guidance’. It is one of 37 tracks on Brown’s new album, “Indigo”, which will also include collaborations with Justin Bieber, Lil Jon, Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj. The album will be released June 28.
• Queen — A previously lost song featuring the vocals of late singer Freddie Mercury will be released June 21.‘Time Waits For No One’ was written for the stage show “Time” in 1986 by musician Dave Clark, and Mercury recorded his own take on the ballad, which had been lost for a decade until recently.
• Iggy Pop — A surreal film that he narrates will be available to stream June 21. “In Praise of Nothing” is an avant-garde, satirical documentary in which Iggy plays ‘The Voice of Nothing’. Described as “a whistleblowing documentary parody,” the 78-minute film – which took almost ten years to make – is entirely composed of fixed shots filmed by 68 film-makers in over 70 countries.
• Skid Row – former singer Sebastian Bach has issued an open invitation to his former Skid Row colleagues, asking them to join him on his upcoming tour — but he admits they are unlikely to accept. Last week, he announced that he will perform the band’s debut album in its entirety at each tour stop, to celebrate the album’s 30th anniversary.
• Carrie Underwood – welcomed Joan Jett to the stage during her performance at CMA Fest on Friday night. The pair duetted on a medley of some of Jett’s classics, including ‘I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll’, ‘Bad Reputation’ and ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You’.  ‘I Hate Myself for Loving You’ was once used as the opening theme to NBC’s Sunday Night Football coverage, with Pink, Faith Hill, and Underwood all taking turns singing the tune.
• Florida Georgia Line — Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley say they have already picked a name for their son, who is due to be born in August: Luca Reed. Luca means “bringer of light” and Reed is Hubbard’s middle name.

RE-TIRED:

I’m sure someone, somewhere will disagree, but in my experience, any time I’ve ever had a flat tire, it couldn’t have happened at a more inconvenient time.  I’m in a rush, I’m in the middle of nowhere, I’m in a sketchy neighborhood, the weather is horrendous…you know the routine. Well, here’s some positive news: The tire company Michelin says that we may be driving on airless tires by 2024…which would mean no flat tires…ever.  They announced last week that “UPTIS”, their ‘unique puncture-proof tire system” goes into testing this year, and if all goes well, airless tires could be in use on passenger cars in 5 years. The tire features a “rib” design between the aluminum wheel and the outer tread.  It is made of composite rubber and high-strength resin-embedded fiberglass that offers the give and durability that a vehicle tire requires. Michelin says besides the advantage of never experiencing blowouts or flat tires, airless tires would also mean we never have to carry a spare, resulting in lighter and more fuel-efficient cars on the road. There would also be an environmental benefit, as fewer tires would be scrapped as a result of blowouts, and there will be fewer emissions at the manufacturing level, because no spare or replacement tires would need to be made.
(My son has been driving around on airless tires for 2 years…on his trike!)
(Has anyone told the police that they are going to have to come up with a new idea to replace their spike belts?)
(For sale: One used tire gauge…)

BUOYS OF SUMMER:

Once upon a time, not too long ago, if you mentioned that you own a timeshare, you might get a sympathetic glance. The thought was that maybe you had caved to a hard sell from one of those seedy operators who offer you a free weekend away in exchange for sitting in on a seminar designer to separate you from your money on a monthly basis ’til death do you part…or longer.  But times have changed, and buying a timeshare is becoming a savvy vacation strategy. And rather than a cottage or a ski mountain getaway, Consumer Reports is calling the purchase of timeshare use of yachts “The hottest trend on the water.” Many middle-class families are taking advantage of the opportunity of being able to enjoy the thrill of sailing a luxury yacht as part of a timeshare arrangement. They enjoy the use of a professionally managed boat by scheduling their time through an online scheduling system. A monthly membership fee covers the slip fees, maintenance, insurance and operating costs. And boat owners are finding that they can make extra money by making their luxury vessels available for a “timeshare” arrangement.
(Yes, it would be nice to share the expense of a bottomless money-pit with a few dozen others…)
(Does it come with a funny name, or do I have to think of that myself?)

SHIPPING AND HANDLING:
Now that most people are getting used to the idea of being able to click our mouse a few times and have our groceries delivered, what do you think of THIS?  Walmart is experimenting with the idea of having the grocery delivery person not only bring your weekly necessities to the front door, but come right in and put them away for you.  Customers will purchase groceries online and select a delivery day. Walmart’s employees will wear a camera when they enter customers’ homes, allowing shoppers to watch the process live from their phones. Customers won’t have to pay for a camera, but they will have to purchase a special door lock. Walmart did not say how much the lock will cost. Walmart will offer the grocery delivery and put-away service this fall in Pittsburgh, Kansas City, Missouri and Vero Beach, Florida.
(I hope their delivery person knows where things are supposed to go in the fridge better than I do…apparently…)
(And haven’t we all wondered what it looks like inside the homes of the “People of Walmart”!)
(I hope they remember to bring along some dog treats…!)
