Our Sheet Don’t Stink!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ 28-year-old Robert Pattinson is reportedly the favorite to take over from Harrison Ford in the rebooted “Indiana Jones” movie franchise, but he’ll reportedly have to duke it out with the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Channing Tatum, Chris Pine, and Kellan Lutz to win the role. An insider says Disney is hoping to launch 2 movies within a 3-year period, with filming planned to begin in 2016.
– TheSun.co.uk
★ “Anchorman” director Adam McKay has pulled out of negotiations to direct “Ant-Man”. He was considered frontrunner to replace Edgar Wright on the Marvel superhero movie, but now he too has decided to opt out. Even so the film, starring Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, and Evangeline Lilly, is still scheduled to hit theaters sometime next year.

★ Bryan Cranston will reprise his role as ‘Walter White’. An inside source says the 58-year-old former star of AMC’s “Breaking Bad”, will ‘definitely’ return in the new spin-off “Better Call Saul” despite his character being killed off in the show’s finalé last year. The new program will feature lots of time-shifting, enabling plenty of opportunities for ‘Walter White’ to resurface.

★ And a new report suggests that the producers of the ‘James Bond’ films are looking at Amber Heard or Blake Lively to become the next ‘Bond girl’. The role is described as ‘a Scandinavian woman who has a good heart but a troubled past’. Shooting begins this November with both star Daniel Craig and director Sam Mendes back for the new installment.

SOLO TRAVEL SAFETY TIPS FOR WOMEN:
• Drink in Moderation – Alcohol has a way of lowering inhibitions, and that can cause problems when you’re traveling abroad, particularly if you’re alone.
• Avoid Beaches at Night – Always. Without exception. Anywhere you are. Beaches are generally not patrolled after sundown and it’s best to avoid them outside of daytime.
• Plan the Basics – You don’t have to detail every day of your trip, but you should know where you’re sleeping and how you’ll get there.
• Talk to Everyone – Introduce yourself to other travelers, talk to locals, make new friends on long bus trips. Other people can be your best resource when it comes to staying safe.
• Be Aware – It’s easy to forget you’re traveling and become a little too comfortable. Always keep track of where you are, who is around you, and what you have on you as you travel.
• Be Cautious, Not Paranoid – Be careful while you travel, but don’t get so caught up in fear that you forget to enjoy the experience. (And your best tip is?)

DATING AND MOOLAH:
In a new poll, both men & women agree that personality is the most important trait to consider when deciding whether to go on a first date with someone; very few say money is a top consideration. A few survey highlights …
• 16% say they would be comfortable dating someone who is unemployed.
• 23% would be comfortable dating someone with significant student loan debt.
• 33% think it’s OK to search for online clues about a potential first date’s financial success.
• 43% of men would be OK dating someone with a significantly lower income, as opposed to just 28% of women.
• 50% of both men and women believe a man with a family has a responsibility to choose a higher-paying job over one that is more satisfying.
• 66% think it’s tougher to talk money with your romantic partner than it is to talk sex.
• 70% say it’s unacceptable to expect a date to pay for everything, but most still say it’s a man’s job to pay for the first date.
• 71% of women would be comfortable dating someone who makes far more money, compared with just 59% of men.
• 84% of men say they’d marry someone they love regardless of whether they could provide financial security; compared to 61% of women.
In general, it seems most women are looking for an ‘ambitious charmer’ while men are seeking an ‘amusing looker’. (So much for the third wave of feminism.)

EMPORIUM FOR PURPLE PEOPLE:
Where can you go to find a purple tea kettle? A purple couch? Purple camouflage underwear? Well you go to The Purple Store, of course! Adam Sheridan opened Purple Store in Seattle WA and online because people who prefer purple had trouble finding purple things and were excited when they did. Rather than unusual stuff, Purple Store customers seem to want ordinary everyday items, only in purple. And business is good. The store survived the recession and Sheridan says that, with more fans discovering Purple Store everyday, there are now plans to add more products and locations. (Where else would you find a plush purple panda bear?)

FLY ABOVE THESE AIR-TRAVEL DANGERS:
Airports and airliners can be major sources of infection from viruses and bacteria. Arrive safely at your destination with these tips on staying healthy …
• Seatmates – If you are sitting next to someone who is coughing, hold a handkerchief discreetly over your nose/mouth when they do it. Also, keep your hands clean and away from your mouth and eyes.
• Tray tables – Use an alcohol wipe and clean the tray table and the audio-video controls, especially on planes that have been used for long trips.
• Magazines – Just how many people have flipped through that “SkyMall”? Skip it, unless you can disinfect your hands immediately after reading it.
• Beverages – Watch out for crew fingers in glasses or on lime wedges used in drinks. Ask for your own soft drink can, so you can pour it yourself. Take a pass on the citrus since it most likely has not been washed.
Experts say that, overall, hand hygiene is one the most important things you can do to decrease risk of picking up come sort of bug. (Why isn’t there separate seating for ‘Sick’ and ‘Non-Sick’?)
