Sheet For Brains!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ The mobile phone game “Temple Run” has now topped 1 billion downloads between the original version and the sequel “Temple Run 2”. Distributor Imangi Studios says players have run a total of 50 trillion meters and played over 32 billion games to date. ★ Now that Kim & Kanye’s wedding is over, what’s the next big life event for the Kardashian clan? A baby! A new report says Kourtney Kardashian (35) and her partner Scott Disick (31) are expanding their family, though none of the Kardashians has tweeted a peep about it and Kourtney’s rep is only offering ‘no comment’. If true, the new li’l K – due in December – will join brother Mason (4), and sister Penelope (2 in July).

★ And this sure beats subtitles! All 62 episodes of “Breaking Bad” have been remade scene-for-scene … in Spanish. The series, re-titled “Metastasis”, premieres Sunday on Univision, Unimas, and Galavision, and throughout Latin America. It will then air weeknights on Unimas, completing its run in 3 months instead of the 6 years it took on AMC. The Spanish version is set in Bogota, Colombia and stars Roberto Urbina as ‘José Rosas’ (‘Jesse Pinkman’) and Diego Trujillo as ‘Walter Blanco’ (‘Walter White’).

✓ Mazda 3
✓ Mazda 6
✓ Nissan Rogue
✓ Toyota Prius
✓ Subaru Outback

CAT-A-LOG:
Not even “Mad Men’s” ‘Peggy Olsen’ could have come up with an advertising plan like this! Green Wood Animal Shelter in London, England has teamed up with UK furnishings company Furniture Village to add some special guests to their usual catalogue of household decor … cats & dogs that are looking for permanent homes. The critters are pictured lounging and playing amongst the retailer’s furniture ensembles. The pets-to-be, who currently reside at the shelter, can be adopted with just a few clicks online. (“This high-quality Sklar-Peppler sofa comes with matching throw cushions and sweet little fuzzball Gunner, a Persian-Siamese cross …”)

STORM SEXISM:
In a new weather study, researchers have noticed that hurricanes with female names usually result in more deaths. Over the past 50 years, the most damaging female-named hurricanes have averaged 45 deaths apiece, while the most damaging male-named hurricanes have averaged just 23. Why would that be? It seems people take male-named hurricanes more seriously than female ones. To put the data to the test, researchers asked participants to describe their responses to hurricanes based on name only. They consistently perceived hurricanes with male names to be more ‘intense’ and indicated that they would be more likely to take shelter. (So we prepare for ‘Igor’, but ignore warnings about a cutesy, friendly-sounding storm like, say … ‘Katrina’.)

DID YOU KNOW?
For the 2016 Super Bowl, which takes place at Levi’s Stadium in San Francisco CA, the NFL is dumping its tradition of using Roman numerals and calling it straight-up ‘Super Bowl 50’. Roman numerals have been used in 47 of the 48 previous Super Bowls and will be in next year’s Super Bowl XLIX. So why the change? It’s thought that ‘Super Bowl L’ looks funny. (We’ll tell you what looks funny … Super Bowl LXXXVIII. Figure that one out.)
