BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ OJ Simpson is officially on Twitter … and officially super creepy. He joined the social media platform right after the 25th Anniversary of the double murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, beginning his video introduction by saying: “Hey Twitter world, this is yours truly.” He then asked people to follow his Twitter account, and warned against following imposter accounts. In what could be considered a spine-chilling threat, Simpson then smiled at the camera and said: “This should be a lot of fun. I got a little getting even to do.”

★ Julia Roberts says that “Pretty Woman” could have ended in a much-different way. Roberts sat down with Patricia Arquette for Variety’s “Actors on Actors” series, and detailed how the original ending had her character thrown out of a car and left in a “dirty alley.” That’s a far cry from the romantic ending audiences ended up with.
-TheBlast
★ Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has reportedly split from Dakota Johnson. Martin told friends that he’s no longer in a relationship with Johnson, who is best-known for starring in the “Fifty Shades” movies. The high-profile duo dated for 20 months and had previously discussed tying the knot.

★ Jennifer Aniston is opening up about a secret crush all the ladies on “The Morning Show” had on one of the show’s stars. She appeared on “The Talk”, and shared that everyone’s on-set crush was none other than Steve Carell. Aniston explained that Carell is “like a silver fox now. And he just came in and no one expected…he’s so shy and fantastic. He’s just better with age, it’s amazing.” Aniston stars alongside the 56-year-old Carell in the Apple TV show about morning news shows.

★ According to reports, Cuba Gooding Junior’s alleged groping situation has taken a turn for the worse. Some news outlets are claiming the footage shows him touching a woman’s thigh as well as her breast. Over the last few years, Gooding has garnered a reputation for himself as a bit of a party boy, including one incident where he supposedly pushed a male bartender after aggressive fans approached him in an attempt to get a picture.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Taylor Swift — brought down the house on Friday by giving a surprise performance during a Pride Event at the iconic Stonewall Inn in New York City. During her intimate performance, Swift debuted her new song, ‘You Need to Calm Down’. The event which was co-hosted by “Modern Family” star Jesse Tyler Ferguson, who joined Swift in a rendition of ‘Shake it Off’.
• Drake — As promised, he dropped two new songs on Saturday to celebrate the Toronto Raptors’ NBA championship win: ‘Omertà’ and ‘Money in the Grave’ (featuring Rick Ross). Neither songs mention the basketball final, although the artwork does feature the Larry O’Brien trophy.
• Madonna – says her children’s lives would be “less challenging” if she wasn’t their mother. She made the remarks during an appearance on The Graham Norton Show which is set to air on Friday, and claimed her kids sometimes wish they didn’t have such a famous parent. Despite her busy schedule, she says she always makes time for her family.
• The Beatles – Their first contract with Brian Epstein is expected to sell for around US$380,000 when it goes up for auction next month. It was signed on Jan. 24, 1962, 14 months before they released their debut album, “Please Please Me”. The document is signed by Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and original drummer Pete Best.
• The Who – Singer Roger Daltrey told fans during a Q&A that “I think we’ve made our best album since Quadrophenia”, referring to the group’s classic 1983 concept album. The as-yet untitled LP will be the band’s first new studio material since 2006.
• Slash – says he would be an animator or illustrator if he wasn’t a rock star. He says that he has always had a passion for art and he thinks he would be in a ”creative” job if he weren’t in a band: “My family are all artists, so it would definitely be something in the art realm.”
• Sam Hunt — Is only playing four shows this year, and one of them was at Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo., on Friday. He says the point of taking 2019 off was to have time to write and record new music. He says the songs he’s working on have a singer-songwriter vibe to them, and he plans to start recording this week.
• Granger Smith– His team has created t-shirts for fans to purchase to honor his 3-year-old son River, who died in hospital following a drowning accident. The fundraiser gives back to Dell Children’s Medical Center in Texas, where River received treatment on June 6 following the accident. The red shirt (River’s favorite color) also features one of his favorite things, an excavator.
WHEN NATURE CALLS:
How much time do you spend outdoors in an average week? And I don’t mean walking across a concrete parking lot, I mean REALLY outdoors…like in a park or near the water or in a forest? A study from the University of Exeter Medical School says that spending two hours a week outside in nature can make you feel better about your health and well-being. They asked 20,000 people about how much time they spent in a natural environment over the previous week. What they found was that those who reported spending more than two hours in nature were more likely to report high levels of health and well-being. Those who spent less than 120 minutes in nature were no more likely to report good health and well being than those who reported zero minutes.
(OK….help me move this couch outside!)
(The only time I’ve ever spent two hours in the woods was when I lost my last golf ball!)
(Ask them again about their well being after being outside in January!)

LAUNDRY DAY: FAR AWAY
Less laundry. Does that sound good to you? That’s the mission statement of a number of start-ups which are designing clothes that require laundering less often. A lot less often. Through the selection of materials that are more resistant to odor and dirt, they feel they will be able to re-educate the consumer about how much laundering is necessary, and provide environmental benefits at the same time. A company called Pangaia has created a “seaweed fiber” T-shirt that is treated with peppermint oil to keep it fresher between washes. (Just $85). You can apparently wear it for weeks before throwing it in the laundry. They also have a dress that can be worn for 100 days straight without washing. Or so they say. Washing machines account for 17 per cent of the average household’s water usage, and these companies say their garments could save 3,000 litres of water over their lifetime. And clothing that you rarely need to wash is very handy to travel with as well. Not convinced yet these are for you? Maybe you’d like to try the $42 boxer briefs, designed to be washed “infrequently”.
(A T-shirt that can be worn for weeks without smelling? Challenge accepted!)
(OK, but this is going to make a lot of college kids look pretty funny, coming home on the weekend with a laundry bag full of nothing!)
(And once again (***Co-Host***) is a trendsetter!)

THINGS YOU MIGHT THINK ARE THE SAME – BUT AREN’T:
➠ Poisonous and Venomous: “Venomous” applies to animals that bite or sting, injecting toxins. Anything that’s “poisonous” unloads toxins when you eat it. (So, a snake isn’t poisonous unless I’m eating it?)
➠ Robbery and Burglary: A “robbery” is a person-to-person interaction and theft with, “force, intimidation, or coercion.” “Burglary,” however, only requires intent to steal, it doesn’t require a personal interaction. (No personal interaction? So, the government is “burgling” me blind at tax time?)
➠ Whole wheat and whole grain: Wheat is a type of grain. A food is “whole grain” if it uses the entire grain kernel. (So, if it is whole wheat, it is whole grain, but not all whole grain products are whole wheat? Got it.)
➠ Direct and Non-stop flights: “Non-stop” flights go from the first destination to the last. A “direct” flight is an older term from days when flights made stops at airports along the route, sometimes to refuel and sometimes without making passengers leave the plane. These are rare now thanks to more fuel-efficient jets.
➠ All-wheel and Four-wheel drive: Vehicles with 4WD are usually trucks or SUVs meant for off-road driving. They send power to all four wheels equally. AWD is all about varying the amount of power to each wheel when a loss of traction is detected.
➠ Cement and Concrete: Cement is the binding ingredient in concrete. Concrete also has air, water, and a mix or combination of “aggregate” including sand, gravel, or crushed stone.
➠ Grocery stores and Supermarkets: The difference is basically size and selection. “Supermarkets” usually have a wider assortment of products beyond food, but “grocery stores” stock a handful of household items at most.
➠ Streets, Roads and Avenues: Roads are typically throughways connecting two points, but streets are public roads with buildings on both sides. So, while “streets” are “roads,” “roads” aren’t “streets.” Then there are “avenues” which run the opposite way of roads, either north-south or east-west, depending on where you live. (Great. Now could you explain “boulevard”? And how to spell it?)

DID YOU KNOW?
A University of British Columbia study found that tilting your head down and lowering your chin by just 10 degrees makes you appear more dominant. The effect is achieved by the “artificial appearance of lowered and V-shaped eyebrows” which “elicit perceptions of aggression, intimidation and dominance.”
(It doesn’t make me look dominant…it makes me look like I have turkey-neck!)
