The Sheet Hits the Fans!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Britney Spears’ new hubby wants to be a movie action hero. Sam Asghari has recently sent recorded auditions to Marvel Studios, and the native of Iran says he’s determined to become a “positive role model for young Persian men, rather than the villains they are usually portrayed as”, according to a source. Reportedly, Asghari has also been recently working on his screen fighting skills and has upped his training in mixed martial arts and undertaken stunt classes. He starred in Spears’ ‘Slumber Party’ music video in 2016.

★ Johnny Depp is warning his fans not to be fooled by the fake social media accounts that have sprung up recently, claiming to be him. He shared a post on Instagram Story, in which he listed his official social media accounts, explaining that any others are bogus. He wrote: “These are the only pages run by me and my team where we share updates and communicate.” He said that his team is working to “combat” the problem of fake accounts. Meanwhile, on his official Instagram account, Depp shared a photo of iconic movie star Hedy Lamarr, along with the caption, “Soon…” LINKS: https://tinyurl.com/48k527zy https://tinyurl.com/4sbufvh2

★ Ezra Miller will be dropped from future DC films following “The Flash”, according to reports. The actor, who has been arrested multiple times and subject to restraining orders in recent months, will play ‘Barry Allen’ aka ‘The Flash’ in the forthcoming DC movie – which wrapped production in October, and is set for release next June. Deadline says Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav is facing a “crisis” over how to handle the bad press surrounding Miller. According to a source, “the hope is that the scandal will remain at a low level before the movie is released, and hope for the best to turn out.” The publication also says that even if no further allegations surface against Miller, the studio “won’t likely keep Miller in the Flash role in future DC films”.

★ What is Wendy Williams planning now that her talk show has ended? Apparently, she has a new media project in the works. “Extra” shared a teaser video of Billy Bush talking on the phone with Williams, who expressed that she’s going into the podcast business. She specifically noted that she has been in contact “with iTunes,” but no further details were shared. It was reported last month that Williams had received podcast offers, with a source saying: “She sees Joe Rogan has a $100million podcast deal, and now she wants that kind of money.” “The Wendy Williams Show” came to an end on Friday, and Williams did not take part in the episode. Instead, Sherri Shepherd, who will take over the show under the “Sherri” umbrella, served as guest host.

SHOOTING THE BULL
NOT A FAN:
Although it’s tempting during those hot, humid summer nights to shut yourself in a dark room with your fan running, you might want to rethink that strategy. Why? According to Sleep Advisor, aside from adding to your electricity bill, it can also have a negative impact on your sleep. The sleep publication says fans blow dry air around the room, which could lead to a number of concerns, such as dry skin and sinus issues. Quote: “If the dryness is particularly extreme, it can result in your body producing excess mucous to compensate. Then, you’re more susceptible to blockage, stuffiness, and sinus headaches.” Another possible complication is waking up with sore muscles, because concentrated cool air can make your body tense up and cramp – although that admittedly is an extreme case. Sleep Advisor suggests not spending the night with the fan cranked up if it’s triggering any allergy or asthma symptoms or if you’re experiencing dry skin, eyes, mouth or sinuses. You could also consider getting a fan with an automatic shut-off timer.
(I’ll take the dry skin and cramps – as long as it drowns out the sound of her snoring!)
(I survived COVID twice – I think I’ll be alright dealing with a fan!)
(I’m sure blowing 98% humidity air around like last night won’t dry out my skin TOO much..)

WEINER/BUN CONUNDRUM:
Well, if we can’t solve the climate crisis, create world peace, or end the pandemic, at least there’s THIS: Two companies have banded together to end the numerical mismatch between hot dog buns and wieners. Brokered as part of the “Heinz Hot Dog Pact,” the deal will see bread maker Wonder sell packs of 10 buns at some grocers in Ontario, which will match up nicely with the 10-packs of Heinz wieners normally sold in stores. The buns will be available starting Thursday, following a year-long online petition that garnered more than 34,000 signatures. Kraft Heinz said it felt it was “our duty as the world’s most iconic ketchup to rally our passionate fans and champion change for the age-old issue of unequal buns and wieners packs.” Wonderbrands said it’s a chance to “finally give hot dog fans what they’ve longed for.”
(Actually, what hot dog fans are longing for is a way to stop that yucky watery goop that comes out before the mustard!)
(In Heinzsight, they should have mustered up the courage to do this long ago. But I’ll relish it anyway. Glad they finally decided to ketchup! Sorry for the ‘Dad’ jokes. ‘Frankly’, I can’t get enough…)

SPEND-HAPPY:
Who want to be billionaire? Not as many people as you might think. According to a new survey by researchers at the University of Bath (in England), it does not take piles upon piles of money to “live your best life” — and that’s something that they believe is good for the planet. They surveyed nearly 8,000 people in 33 countries, asking what people think they need to achieve their “absolutely ideal life.” Surprisingly, in 86% of the countries, the majority said they could live their best life with less than $10 million. In some countries, respondents said they could achieve this with less than $1 million. The team says there is a long-standing economic principle which states that “unlimited wants” are the motivating force for everyone, which keeps us running on a “consumerist treadmill”, thus depleting the world’s resources. The researchers say that their discovery that “most people’s ideal lives are actually quite moderate could make it socially easier” for us to live greener lifestyles and “to support stronger policies to help safeguard the planet.”
(Maybe being a billionaire wouldn’t be so great, after all. But I’d sure like the chance to find that out for myself!)
(But keep in mind, that means people in 14% of countries said they’d actually need MORE than $10 million to be happy!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Robert Pattinson is a pretty good-looking guy, but now, science has “proven” that he’s still the most attractive man in the world. Pattinson, known as the broody vampire ‘Edward’ in the “Twilight” franchise, and most recently as “The Batman”, was originally given the title of the most attractive man in the world in 2020 and he been at the top of the list ever since. The title comes after an algorithm that ranks facial features was used to analyze the leading men of Hollywood. Pattinson scored an impressive 92.15%, beating Henry Cavill (91.64%), Bradley Cooper (91.08%), Brad Pitt (90.51%) and George Clooney (89.91%).

BS CHRONOMETER 06.21.22
TODAY’S BS REASONS TO PARTY . . .
• “First Day of Summer”, in the Northern Hemisphere. Also known as Summer Solstice, it is observed when the Sun reaches its northernmost point in the sky, making it the day with the longest period of light. Summer arrived this morning at 5:14am EDT. (It’s gonna be a loooooong day!)
➢ The word ‘solstice’ comes from the Latin words “sun” and “stoppage.” Makes sense: the sun stops moving north that day. (Sounds scary, though…)
➢ The solstice is also when those in the northern hemisphere see the highest sun of the year. But it’s getting lower over time. That’s because Earth’s tilt is slowly decreasing.
➢ The solstice is when the sun is lowest in the sky for those at the equator.
➢ Today, the sun rises farthest left on the horizon, and sets at its rightmost possible spot. Sunlight strikes places in your rooms that get illuminated at no other time. (Should’ve dusted!)
➢ Most importantly: “It’s the start of Summer!” (Or, Winter, if you live below the equator)
• “Go Skateboarding Day”, an unofficial annual holiday conceived by the International Association of Skateboard Companies to promote boarding. (BYOBandaids)
• “International Day of Yoga”, first declared by the UN in 2015 to recognize the importance of yoga as a physical, mental, and/or spiritual practice. (And to some, a great spectator sport!)
• “Peaches & Cream Day”, not the complexion nor the corn variety, but the real deal. You won’t find a better Summer treat than fresh-sliced peaches covered with real cream.
• “Selfie Day”, encouraging the world to take selfies and post them online. (Is it Kim Kardashian’s birthday or something?)
• “World Handshake Day”, the goal is “the global connection of all people and the symbolic transfer of love, gratitude, and positive energy to mother earth and all its living beings.” (My goal is to get through this without everyone knowing how sweaty my palms are…)
• World Giraffe Day”, The world’s tallest animal is celebrated today, on the longest day or night (depending on the hemisphere) of the year. World Giraffe Day also raises support, creates awareness, and sheds light on the challenges that wild giraffes face.
• “Atheist Solidarity Day”, a day of awareness, when atheists are encouraged to be open about their lack of belief in God and not fear harmful consequences.
• “World Peace and Prayer Day”, on the summer solstice, encouraging people of all faiths and nations to pray for the planet. It’s also a day to learn more about Mother Earth and to inspire youth to care for the environment.
• “World Music Day”, honoring amateur and professional musicians alike. The primary aim is to provide free music to everyone, and to encourage amateur musicians to showcase their work to the world. (Unless they play the accordion…)
