Bull Works!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
(***NOTE: Confirm this***) ★ Wedding bells were ringing for Britney Spears yesterday. She and her fiancé, Sam Asghari, were married at her Thousand Oaks CA home, in an intimate ceremony surrounded by about 50 close friends and family members, according to reports. Spears’ brother, Bryan, was reported to be in attendance, but her estranged parents, Jamie and Lynne, and sister, Jamie Lynn, didn’t receive invitations after their fallout over her conservatorship battle. Details were still being worked out the day of the wedding regarding who would walk the pop star down the aisle. Ahead of the nuptials, Spears shared video of her and Asghari riding in a Rolls-Royce where she showed off what appeared to be a bridal-themed manicure and glasses of Champagne. The 2 met in 2016 on the set of her ‘Slumber Party’ video, and he popped the question in September.

★ The Los Angeles home of the late Bob Saget has hit the market. Saget’s Crestwood Hills residence, where he lived for nearly 20 years, is listed for $7.76 million. Saget, who unexpectedly passed away on January 9 at age 65, purchased the 6-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom estate in 2003 for $2.9 million. The “Full House” dad resided there until his death. One particular feature of the home is Elan smart home technology a super-premium home automation that controls nearly every form of automation available. The listing came just ahead of Netflix’s “A Tribute To Bob Saget” — a celebration of Saget’s life in comedy with his friends and family — out today.

★ Following his bombshell defamation trial, Johnny Depp’s next act will be in a docuseries. Premiering July 22 on the streaming site Fandor, “Boston George” follows drug trafficker and smuggler ‘George Jacob Jung’, who Depp portrayed in the 2001 film “Blow.” The 5-part docuseries will feature interviews from Depp, marking his first on-screen content since his courtroom battle with ex-spouse Amber Heard — unless you count his TikTok videos. While Jung filmed the series prior to passing away last year, characters from his life came together to tell his story. Depp has more reported gigs in the future, including a musical stint with Jeff Beck and a potential role in the “Beetlejuice” sequel directed by Tim Burton. On Monday, a former Disney exec speculated Depp could even return as ‘Jack Sparrow’ in a future “Pirates of the Caribbean” film.

★ Earlier this week, Nick Cannon said he’d be a dad again soon, and now it’s been revealed that the mounting speculation he’s expecting with model Abby De La Rosa is true. It’s being reported that she is due on Oct. 25. The two welcomed twins Zillion and Zion together about a year ago. For those who feel the need to keep track, the twins arrived the same month he welcomed his son, Zen, with model Alyssa Scott. Sadly, Zen died from a brain tumor when he was just 5-months-old. Zen was Nick’s 7th child. In January, Cannon had a gender reveal with Johnny Manziel’s ex, Bre Tiesi, where they announced they were expecting a baby boy – his 8th. And back to Abby De La Rosa — she has teased the idea of having twins again, but that hasn’t been confirmed. Looks like it’ll be a very busy Father’s Day.

THE PLUS SIDE OF OPTIMISM:
Yes, it makes sense – but now we have research to back it up. Being an optimist could lead to a longer life. A large-scale study found those who “always look on the bright side of life” were more likely to make it to the age of 90. The phenomenon applied across racial and ethnic groups, adding to evidence that happiness is good for the body as well as the mind. The findings come from a review of 159,000 women in the U.S. tracked for up to 26 years. Those ranked in the top 25% for optimism lived an average of 5.4% longer those in the lowest quarter. The lead author of the study, Hayami Koga, a PhD candidate at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, believes staying positive is as good for you as exercise.
(I was afraid this was gonna happen!)
(I love optimists. They’ll jump out of a plane expecting sunshine and rainbows to cushion their fall. Meanwhile, I’ll look both ways before crossing the street and get hit by the optimist!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A British woman has had her first meal in 23 years that wasn’t potato chips. 25-year-old Zoe Sadler, who survived on cheese-and-onion-flavored potato chip sandwiches, has finally expanded her palate, thanks to hypnotism. She ate 2 packs of the chips every day for more than 2 decades because other foods left her feeling sick. After developing MS, Sadler decided to improve her health and turned to a hypnotherapist. It only took a couple of 2-hour sessions for Sadler to try fruits, vegetables and other foods, and now she’s looking forward to eating a real meal at her upcoming wedding. (We heard they’re serving cheese-and-onion flavored wedding cake!)
➢ A British woman says she was left “shaking with panic” after accidentally including a naked selfie in her air fryer listing on eBay. 26-year-old Emma Jones was perplexed when she received hundreds of new followers and friend requests on social media last month after listing her Ninja Foodi Max. That turned to horror when she realized that the 5th image of her listing was a topless photo of herself standing in front of a full-length mirror. That pic, intended for her eyes only, was a ‘before’ picture for a diet she was on. She believes she accidentally clicked that pic as she was selecting photos for the ad. The listing — which subsequently went viral — describes the product as being “previously used” and having “some signs of wear and tear.” It quickly racked up 117,000 views and a top bid of more than $1,250, along with many crude messages, and some notes from people who just wanted to alert her to the boo-boo. Jones quickly deleted the photo, and eventually took down the entire listing after it continued to rack up thousands of views. Now, she says: “I’m too afraid to list it again. I’ll try and give it to a friend.” (Apparently, she has lots of new friends to choose from!)

4. London, United Kingdom:  The strength of the pound helped London to secure the number-4 spot.
5. Tokyo, Japan:  Despite spending most of 2021 and 2022 closed to foreign travelers, Japan held strong on ECA’s index.
6. Tel Aviv, Israel:  The coastal metropolis claimed the title of the Middle East’s most expensive city.

DID YOU KNOW?
Children who play team sports such as football and basketball are less likely to suffer mental health problems, according to a new study. On the other hand, researchers found that kids who only play individual sports – such as golf or gymnastics – are at greater risk of mental health issues than kids who don’t play sports at all. The findings come from a study of more than 11,200 American children between 9 and 13 years-old.

BS CHRONOMETER 06.10.22

TODAY’S BS REASON TO PARTY . . .
• “Ball Point Pen Day”, commemorating its 1943 invention by Lasalo Biro of Hungary. During WW2, Britain’s Royal Air Force commissioned him to develop an instrument that could write under low atmospheric pressure at high altitude. (Did they not think of using a pencil?)
• “Iced Tea Day”, celebrating the favorite Summer cooler of millions. The origins of early non-alcoholic iced tea recipes can be traced to 1876. A few years later, sweet tea began to take hold in the Southern US. Iced tea’s popularity really took off after visitors to the 1904 World’s Fair in St. Louis embraced it. (Let’s get this parTEA started!)
• “Herb and Spice Day”, an essential part of flavorful cooking, as well as fun and easy to grow. (It takes some thyme, though. Sorry.)
• “Black Cow Day” A Black Cow is a root beer float – made with vanilla ice cream and root beer. But in some places, a black cow or a “brown cow” is made with cola instead of root beer. And in other places, a “root beer float” has strictly vanilla ice cream; a float made with root beer and chocolate ice cream is a “chocolate cow” or a “brown cow”.
• “Alcoholics Anonymous Founders’ Day” On June 10, 1935, Bill Wilson and Dr. Robert Smith set out to find the best way to reform alcoholics, and Alcoholics Anonymous was born. (In Canada, the organization is called “AA, eh?”)

SATURDAY-
• “Corn on the Cob Day”, Corn is an ancient plant native to the Americas. It is believed to have been first cultivated in Mexico and spread around the world via European explorers in the 15th and 16th centuries. Because eating it is a messy affair, and leads to corn sticking to your teeth, etiquette rules that it should never be served at formal occasions (or ordered on a first date!).
• “Cousteau Day”, a celebration of Jacques Cousteau’s life. In his 87 years, Captain Cousteau’s immense contributions to marine science and conservation, including the production of more than 120 documentaries, advancing the science of scuba, and promoting environmental activism, are indisputable.
• “German Chocolate Cake Day”, the first thing you should know about it is that it is not from Germany! It is named after American Samuel German, who came up with a dark baking chocolate for Baker’s Chocolate Company in 1852, which was named Baker’s German’s Sweet Chocolate.
• “National Making Life Beautiful Day”, dedicated to encouraging and celebrating those who are doing just that. Whether you’re creating beauty through building relationships or helping others, one small action can lead to a ripple effect, making life beautiful not just for yourself, but for those around you, too.
• “King Kamehameha Day”, honoring Hawaii’s first king, who unified the Hawaiian Islands in 1810. Not very significant to the rest of us … but it sure is fun saying “Kah-MAY-uh-MAY-uh”!
NET: http://www.punchbowl.com/holidays/kamehameha-day
• It’s also both “World Gin Day” and National Rosé Day”, so take your pick. (Wait…“Name Your Poison Day” was on Wednesday!)

SUNDAY-
• “Superman Day”, Superman was created in 1933 by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. “What’s that in the sky? Is it a Bird? Is it a Plane? No, it is the Superman! The Man of Steel….” BS FAST FACT: Originally, Superman did not have the ability to fly, but he was “able to leap tall buildings at a single bound.”
• “Automotive Service Professionals Day”, begun in 2005 by National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence to salute mechanics and others involved in vehicle maintenance. (OK, we salute you. Now call me some time with some GOOD news!)
• “Crowded Nest Awareness Day”, recognizing the condition ‘Crowded Nest Syndrome’, the series of problems that occur when children who’ve moved out of the house…move back in.
• “Jerky Day”, celebrating the rich history, immense popularity, and nutritional benefits of dried meat snacks. In one poll, men picked jerky as ‘Best Road Snack’.
• “Peanut Butter Cookie Day”, a good time to dig out Grandma’s famous recipe and bake up a dozen. The treat first became a favorite in the early 1900s.
• “Red Rose Day”, an annual celebration of the most popular cut flower. Also, one of the most expensive!
• “World Day Against Child Labor”, an International Labor Organization-sanctioned holiday launched in 2002 to foster the worldwide movement against child labor in any of its forms.
