BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Twitter users are trying to “Cancel Kim Kardashian” after her claims that Taylor Swift lied about that leaked phone call. Kardashian got Swift’s massive fanbase riled up after she posted a lengthy response to Taylor claiming vindication after the full transcript of her infamous phone call with Kanye West was released — that’s the call where Swift never approved him referring to negatively in his song ‘Famous’. The Swifties were so fired up, they started trying to “cancel” Kardashian on social media, launching the hashtags #KimKardashianIsOver and #KanyeWestIsOver onto Twitter’s trending topics.

★ Chris Hemsworth wants to pump you up. He is offering up a free six-week trial to his health and fitness platform “Centr” so fans can work out indoors during the coronavirus pandemic. He said that in making the offer, he hopes that “we can help even more people stay strong, healthy and find a sense of calm at a time when we all need that the most.” The free offer is available to sign up for until March 31. The trial allows users to make use of more than 1,000 video workouts – including HIIT, yoga and strength training – plus 500 healthy recipes. It usually costs $19.99 per month.

★ Independent publisher Arcade Publishing suddenly released Woody Allen’s new memoir “Apropos of Nothing” on Monday, just over two weeks after it was dropped by another publisher amid a firestorm by employees. The book is being promoted as “a candid and comprehensive personal account by Woody Allen of his life.” Hachette Book Group cancelled plans to publish the memoir on March 6, after dozens of the company’s employees staged a walkout in protest. Last year, it was reported that four major publishing houses turned down the book in light of Allen’s daughter Dylan Farrow’s resurfaced accusations that Allen had molested her as a 7-year-old.

★ “The Rosie O’Donnell Show” returned for its one-night-only special on Sunday, and it was an enormously star-studded affair, all through the digital magic of video conferencing. To help the cause, O’Donnell enlisted the help of dozens of her friends, including Neil Patrick Harris, Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick and dozens of others who joined the show via video chat. The event was a live-streaming fundraiser for The Actors Fund amid the on-going coronavirus pandemic. O’Donnell took to Twitter after the special ended reveal how successful it had been, announcing that it had raised a half-million dollars.

• Haim – have announced that they are postponing the release of their forthcoming third album, “Women in Music Pt. III”, due to the global coronavirus pandemic. The album is now expected to be released in the summer. In the meantime, they “are gonna be dropping some new tunes.”

• Whitesnake – has cancelled its tour plans for the rest of the year – and it’s NOT because of coronavirus. Singer David Coverdale will need time to recover from surgery to repair a bilateral inguinal hernia. The band had scheduled European dates running throughout the spring, some with Foreigner, followed by a summer US tour with Sammy Hagar and Night Ranger.
• Jon Bon Jovi – posted a video on Instagram asking his followers to “write me a verse” for his new tune. In a bid to keep spirits up, he has provided the first verse and chorus to a song called ‘Do What You Can’, and asks for others with suggestions to write it on their social media accounts with the hashtag #DoWhatYouCan.
• Skid Row – Former singer Sebastian Bach has announced rescheduled dates for the second leg of his tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of the band’s self-titled debut album. The trek will run October 28-December 15.

• Sara Evans – On May 15, she will release an album of cover songs called “Copy That”. It will consist of 13 songs, each of which have personal meaning to her.
• ACMs — The 55th annual Academy of Country Music Awards is now scheduled for Sept. 16, airing live on CBS. As previously announced, Keith Urban, a 15-time ACM Award winner and reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year, will host. A venue and performer lineup will be announced soon.
DISGUISE GOT A GOOD IDEA:
Of all things to worry about during a pandemic, “How do I use Face ID with my face mask on?” is probably not near the top of the list. And thanks to this clever invention, it doesn’t have to be. That’s right, you can purchase a protective respirator face mask with a likeness of the bottom half of your face on it. It is designed to engage the facial recognition software on your smartphone, thereby allowing the wearer to use their device without needing to remove the mask. The masks, which are still in development, are available to order for $40, but hold the phone: There are no plans to actually produce them while there is a global mask shortage. (Tune in next week when some idiot wearing one of these things tries to rob a bank…)
(So you don’t have to remove your mask, but you’ll still need to take your gloves off?)

GET OUT!
Yes, you can go outside during the coronavirus pandemic. In fact, you should. But carefully. Dr. Kathryn Jacobsen, a professor of global health epidemiology at George Mason University, says that getting outdoors for some fresh air and exercise can be an important part of staying healthy during the pandemic. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention hasn’t made any recommendations that people limit outdoor time if they live in places that have not imposed restrictions on outdoor activities and they can maintain physical distance from people who are not members of their own households. Experts say that if you do not have COVID-19 symptoms, by all means, sit on the porch, walk the dog, find a green space, go for a run, if you like. It’ll help you sneak in a little bit of exercise, and it just might keep you from going stir-crazy. Just remember to maintain ‘physical distancing’ at all times. And wash your hands when you get home.
(That’s the problem. My dog is so darn cute that staying 6 feet away from people is impossible!)
(And don’t go partying on the beach like a spring-breaker!)
(Why would I go outside now, when my goal in life has been to remain inside since the first frost?)

THE PERFECT APP TO USE WHILE ON THE TOILET:
If you are one of ‘those’ people who hoard toilet paper, this isn’t for you. But if your supplies are limited, listen up. A new online calculator tells you exactly how many TP rolls you actually need, to ease your worries about running out during the coronavirus pandemic. The online and mobile app “Got Paper?” assists you in figuring your requirements based on sample questions such as “poops per day” or “pees per day” and “sheets per poop” and, well, you get the idea — resulting in an answer of a single number of required rolls at the end. The tool is free to use.
(Whatever it tells you, get more!)
(What’s it matter? My grocery store tells me how many I need these days!)
(Of course there are wildcards in a calculation like this. Chili beans, for instance.)

THE MOST NUTRITIOUS FROZEN FOODS YOU CAN BUY:
If you buy a little extra, you can help slow the spread of COVID-19 by reducing your exposure to crowded places. (But don’t hoard!) Here are some healthy foods that you can buy frozen, or buy, and then freeze…
➢ Vegetables: You knew this was coming. Full of important nutrients to help your immune system operate at its peak. Think squash, broccoli, kale, sweet potatoes, cauliflower…. (Does this include the 11 peas I had in that TV dinner last night?)
➢ Fruits: Dark fruits are best, so specifically look for things like cherries, blueberries and blackberries. (Note to self: Don’t try to freeze Frankenberry…again!) Apples are good too.
➢ Protein: Freeze your favorite cuts of meat, or buy pre-frozen burgers or chicken products. Also: beans, seeds and nuts. Yes, you can freeze them.
➢ Grains: Whole grains are a great source of fiber, protein iron and good carbs. Yes, quinoa is a good one, but local stuff like brown rice and buckwheat freeze well too.
➢ Snacks: Because dairy products can supress the immune system, maybe avoid the ice cream treats and choose something made from real fruit, like a sorbet. (Or blueberry waffles?)

DID YOU KNOW?
Many health officials and news organizations have started to shift away from the term “social distancing” and are replacing it with “physical distancing”. Why? It comes down to the connotations of the words themselves. “Social distancing” doesn’t put the emphasis where it belongs. The move to use “physical distancing” comes from a desire to highlight “keeping the physical distance from people so that we can prevent the virus from transferring to one another,” according to Dr. Maria Van Kerkhove of the World Health Organization. Experts are not recommending social disconnection or social exclusion, in fact, they say that when we practice physical distancing, we need social connectivity more than ever.
