We’ve Got Our Sheet Together!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ The beloved children’s show “Blue’s Clues” is returning after a 12-year hiatus. And producers are seriously considering filling the host’s spot, previously held by Steve Burns and Donovan Patton, with a woman. Why is the show returning after all these years? The plan is to connect with their old audience again, many of whom are starting to have kids of their own. As for dream celebrity guests for the revival, insiders say they wouldn’t turn down Chrissy Teigen, John Legend and their daughter, Luna.

(A clue!)
★ Lisa Bonet, who worked with Bill Cosby on “The Cosby Show”, has for the most part, stayed quiet when it comes to the allegations against him. But while speaking with reporters, Bonet said she had no idea of the extent of his behavior, but that he had a “type of sinister, shadow energy” which could not be concealed. She also said that had she known, “the truth would have come out a long time ago”.

★ Following rumors that Kristen Wiig was in talks to play the villain in the upcoming ‘Wonder Woman’ sequel, director Patty Jenkins has confirmed the news via Twitter. She wrote; “Yes! It’s true! So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can’t wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned.” Wiig will play Cheetah, one of Wonder Woman’s most infamous nemeses.

★ Black Panther has reached a milestone that only four other Marvel Studios titles have achieved. The film, starring Chadwick Boseman as newly crowned King T’Challa, has joined the $1 billion club at the global box office — in just 26 days in theaters. The other members? The Avengers ($1.51 billion), Age of Ultron ($1.41 billion), Iron Man 3 ($1.22 billion) and Captain America: Civil War ($1 billion and counting)

★ Whoa! Joey Lawrence has filed for bankruptcy. Court documents, actually filed back in July, show the former “Blossom” star’s monthly expenses creating $18,000 of debt every month, after his income of $6,966, which is a significant drop from his 2015 haul of $534,000, when he starred in the hit show “Melissa & Joey”. Lawrence’s wife Chandie is unemployed. It is reported that the couple sold clothes, accessories and furniture on eBay and Buffalo Exchange ahead of the bankruptcy filing.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Bruno Mars – is reportedly ‘saddened’ by new accusations that he has been appropriating black culture. • Imagine Dragons and Maroon 5 – are the first performers announced for the NCAA March Madness Festival March 30-April 1. More acts will be announced.
• Chris Brown – was called out by Vanessa Carlton for posting a clip from her hit ‘A Thousand Miles’ to his Instagram account on International Women’s Day. Shortly before setting her Instagram account to private, she wrote in part: “I support survivors not perpetrators of domestic violence. I do not want to be associated with an artist that has assaulted women on a day like today… #internationalwomensday.”
• Halsey – will be a guest judge on the upcoming season of “RuPaul’s Drag Race”. Other guest judges include Shania Twain, Courtney Love and Lena Dunham. The season premiere is March 22.
• Bachman-Turner Overdrive – At age 74, singer/bassist Fred Turner has announced his decision to retire from the road. He also recorded with Randy Bachman as Bachman and Turner. Bachman says that as for him, he plans to “keep going as long as I can”.
• Whitney Houston – “Whitney,” a documentary detailing her life and career, will make its United States debut on July 6. The film also features Houston’s music and some home video content.
• Eric Clapton – has announced a pair of shows that will reportedly be among his last for the year. He’ll play two shows at New York City’s Madison Square Garden Oct. 6 and 7. He performed only a handful of shows last year, which were part of what he called his “final tour.”
• Steppenwolf – are streaming a previously unreleased song, ‘Angel Drawers’ as they celebrate their 50th anniversary with the release of a 3-disc box set called ‘Steppenwolf at 50′.
• Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett and Miranda Lambert – are among the first acts announced to perform at the Academy of Country Music Awards. Kelsea Ballerini, Maren Morris, Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley will also perform. Florida Georgia Line will team with Bebe Rexha for a rendition of their crossover hit, ‘Meant to Be’. The ACMs are April 15.
• Lauren Alaina – joined Cole Swindell onstage recently for a surprise duet of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’. She has ACM noms for New Female Vocalist of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year for ‘What Ifs’, her duet with Kane Brown.
SUN TREK:
If you’d like to have your name among the stars, here is your chance. NASA is offering to fly you to the sun – or at least your name. From now until April 27, NASA is accepting online submissions for members of the public to have their name sent on the Parker Solar Probe all the way to the sun. A memory chip containing a list of submitted names will be inserted into the probe. Once launched this summer from Cape Canaveral, Florida, it will eventually come within 4 million miles of our star, closer than any other spacecraft. Temperatures will reach 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, as the spacecraft zips in and out of this atmospheric hot zone, studying different aspects of the sun before it meets its flaming end. Actor William Shatner, who portrayed Capt. James Kirk in the old “Star Trek” TV series, is NASA’s pitchman for the send-your-name-to-the-sun campaign.
(2,500 degrees…if you don’t know how hot that is, think Grandma’s apartment!)
(Please don’t be the first to ask if it’s a manned flight!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
• A French couple have been banned from naming their baby girl ‘Liam’ after a judge warned she could get confused about her gender. The unnamed parents wanted to give their third child, born in November, the traditionally-male name, but French prosecutors stepped in. The baby’s mother had already been advised by the registrar to give her daughter “a more feminine” baby name. Now, the prosecutor has asked a judge to ban the parents from using the name ‘Liam’ for their daughter. The prosecutor said the name “would be likely to create a risk of gender confusion” and “therefore contrary to the interest of the child and could harm him in his social relations”.
(“His” social relations? Um, I think it’s the prosecutor who is experiencing confusion about the baby’s gender!)

• A mother in Shanghai regrets giving her iPhone to her toddler to keep him busy. The boy entered an incorrect passcode so many times that she has been locked out of her phone for…47 years. She claims that she gave the boy the phone so he could watch “educational videos”, and when she checked on him, she found that she has been denied access to her phone for…25 million minutes. Apparently the lockout time increased every time the toddler entered the wrong passcode. Her only other option is to wipe the phone and do a factory reset.
(Which in my experience, takes about the same amount of time…)
(On the plus side, she’ll probably own it outright by then!)

• Maybe you’re one of those people who says the expiration date on food is “Just a suggestion”. Well, I’d suggest you give THIS cereal a try: A Colorado family accidentally bought a box of cereal which expired 21 years ago..and started to eat it! The Carelse family say they bought the decades-old box of Quaker 100% Natural Granola cereal at a Walmart in Littleton on March 5. When the family sat down for breakfast, they noticed out their meal was stale. Anthea only had a few bites, but while Josiah also noticed the cereal tasted funny, he didn’t check the date on the box until he finished his bowl. The family plans to return it to Walmart.
(I dare Walmart to tell them they waited too long to return it!)

WEEDLAND ONTARIO:
The Ontario government has revealed the planned name and logo of the stores that will handle sales of recreational marijuana in the province when it becomes legal later this year. The name of the stores will be — drumroll, please — Ontario Cannabis Store (sad trombone sound). And the logo: just about as exciting…the words ‘Ontario Cannabis Store’ in plain font, with a circled ‘OCS’ logo alongside. How much did the powers that be spend on ‘corporate branding’? $650,000. As you can imagine, Twitter users were underwhelmed. But at least THEY showed some imagination with their responses. Here are the best:
➢ “I feel like the circle is a bit much.”
➢ “It may look better “lit” up?”
➢ “It’s very orderly. Maybe they should have called it the Ontario Cannabis Depot … OCD”
➢ “If Ontario includes grapes, etc. in their liquor store logo, why can’t they include a leaf for the cannabis store logo?”
➢ “Maybe someone should have told them about Fiverr”
➢ “Since it is possible that a significant percentage of people going to the store may be high at the time, simplicity and clarity is probably a good thing.”
➢ “Maybe they blazed one, got distracted playing PS4 or watching Netflix, realized the deadline was in an hour and just drew a circle.”
➢ “Some products sell themselves”
(I thought this stuff was supposed to help with your creativity!)
(And not one person said anything about “rolling out” a new logo?)
