★ Model-turned-actress Cara Delevingne is now set to release her debut novel in October. The 24-year-old describes her book “Mirror, Mirror” as a “twisty coming-of-age” story about a group of 16-year-olds trying to navigate school and relationships. She’s proposing to start an online book club with fans, to give them a place to discuss about issues in the novel. Cara actually wrote “Mirror, Mirror” with the aid of professional novelist Rowan Coleman.

★ Actor-comedian James Corden has hinted that he may bring his late night TV show home to Britain. The 38-year-old has become a household name stateside thanks to CBS-TV’s “The Late Late Show with James Corden”, due in part to the hit bit ‘Carpool Karaoke’. Corden quote: “We do have some stuff planned this year … which might involve being in the UK.”

★ And a spin-off of the CBS-TV sitcom “The Big Bang Theory” has officially been given the greenlight. Speculation about a program following the early life of ‘Sheldon Cooper’ (Jim Parsons) has been circulating for months, and now it’s officially confirmed that a new show will center on the theoretical physicist’s high school days in Texas. A full season is scheduled to air 2017-18, starring Iain Armitage as the young ‘Sheldon’.

• Hanson – The “MMMBop”-ing brothers are embarking on a world tour for their 25th anniversary as a band. The “Middle of Everywhere 25th Anniversary World Tour” kicks off May 21st at The Hop Jam Beer & Music Festival in Tulsa OK.
• Jason Aldean – This week he’s back in the recording studio making new music for his as-yet-untitled 8th album, the follow-up to “They Don’t Know”.
• Lionel Richie / Mariah Carey – Their “All the Hits Tour” was scheduled to begin tonight in Baltimore MD but has been postponed as Richie is recovering from a knee procedure. The tour is now expected to take place this Summer.
• Maren Morris – She’s releasing a deluxe edition of her debut album “Hero” on Friday, which includes the original 11 tracks plus 3 more. Maren played Amsterdam, The Netherlands last night as part of her “Hero Tour 2017”.
• Pearl Jam – They have invited all the drummers in the band’s history (5 in total) to join them at their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on April 7th.
• Pink Floyd – “Another Brick In the Wall: The Opera” premiered in Montréal QC on Saturday and now it’s been announced the operatic version of the classic album “The Wall” is being staged at Ohio’s Cincinnati Music Hall next year, as part of the venue’s 98th season.
• The Who – 71-year-old guitarist Pete Townshend and 73-year-old singer Roger Daltrey have announced a 6-show Las Vegas residency, which kicks off at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 29th. It’s described as a ”first run”, meaning extra dates could be on the horizon.

COFFEE CALAMITY:
Capsule coffee is an environmental crisis. That’s because coffee pods are really difficult to recycle, due to the specific material mix used – mixed plastics (PE and PP), paper, and aluminum – as well as the contamination caused by the coffee grounds. As most pods comprise 6 grams of coffee per 3 grams of material, it is clear that the rise of coffee pods has serious environmental implications. Luckily, coffee-makers are starting to react to this issue. Most, if they aren’t doing so already, are promising to offer fully compostable (or at least biodegradable) coffee pods in the near future. Ethical coffee brand Halo is one of the companies offering fully compostable packaging, an idea which co-founder Nils Leonard says was born out of frustration about most brands’ attitude … they don’t stand for anything outside profit. (This is a mutli-billion-dollar business. How much can making a biodegradable pod cost?)

Cutting-edge vocab …
• ‘Millennial Side Hustle’ (aka ‘Gig Economy’) – Looking for ways to make money on contract or through part-time jobs. For many young adults this means no steady job, and no safety net.
• ‘Shrinkflation” – When the price of a product remains the same but the size gets smaller. Examples, anyone? Cheese, bacon, and laundry detergent come to mind.
• ‘Zombie Laws’ – Archaic laws still on the books. Legislators are looking to delete many from Canada’s Criminal Code, ie: bans on dueling, pretending to practice witchcraft, waterskiing at night, and spreading false news. (Wait, that’s a good one!)

BS PSYCHOLOGICAL LIFE HACKS:
• If you are in customer service, have a mirror somewhere facing the customer. They’re far less likely to get unreasonably angry when they can see themselves.
• If you want to get something from someone, try framing it as though it were an offer instead of a request.
• If you are still speaking after you’ve stated your position in a negotiation, you are not doing furthering your cause.
• A person’s name is the sweetest sound in the world to that person. If you remember a person’s name, you will make that person feel very special.
• Chew gum if possible when doing nerve-racking things. It somehow gets your brain to calm down.
• I you force yourself to smile, your mood will actually improve. Psychologists have even found that people are happier when they are asked to hold chopsticks between their teeth.
• If you can get someone to do something simple for you, they are more likely to do something bigger. It’s called gradual commitment.
• When you are trying to learn something, teach someone about it. It will really cement it into your mind.
• Stand up straight. Not only will people see you as more confident, you will actually feel more confident.
• People won’t remember what you said. They’ll remember how you made them feel.

More people are filling out NCAA Tournament brackets this week than voted for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton in last year’s US presidential election. The American Gaming Association estimates that, in total, around $10.4 billion will be wagered on the 3-week ‘March Madness’ hoops extravaganza that started last night with opening-round games and ends April 1st weekend at the Final Four in Phoenix AZ. That’s $1.2 billion more than last year. Only $295 million of that will be bet legally. (Without money on the line, a lot of sports can be really dull.)
