BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Rumors of Amber Heard being fired from “Aquaman 2” are now being debunked. Over the weekend, internet gossip began to circulate, suggesting Heard had been removed from her role as ‘Mera’ in the forthcoming sequel. A senior staff writer for The Hollywood Reporter tweeted to say he’d spoken to a ‘reliable source’ about the film, and wrote: “reports of Amber Heard being fired off ‘Aquaman 2′ are inaccurate.” Heard’s involvement in the film had come under scrutiny amid her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp, and his fans had even started a petition calling for Heard’s removal from Aquaman 2 after Warner asked Depp to resign from “Fantastic Beasts 3”.

★ It’s been a long, long time since “SNL” did any jokes about the president of the United States. The 2020 Christmas episode, in fact. But that looks likely to change March 27, when Maya Rudolph will return as host. She’ll be joined by musical guest Jack Harlow, who is appearing on “SNL” for the first time. Rudolph, who made her hosting debut on the show in 2012, was a cast member from 2000-07, but most recently appeared in her recurring role as Vice President Kamala Harris.

★ Tiger Woods’ peers are showing support for him in his recovery from last week’s car accident in a “major” way. Sunday afternoon, pros including Tony Finau, Cameron Champ, and others showed up for the final day of the WGC-Workday Championship wearing Woods’ iconic “Sunday Red.” Photos and videos surfaced on social media showing both PGA and LPGA stars wearing the “red top with black pants and a black cap worn backward” look, which Woods made famous early in his career. The tributes continued as some of the sport’s biggest stars represented Woods at other clubs, including Rory McIlroy, Annika Sorenstam, and Andrew Putnam.

★ Kobe Bryant’s childhood basketball hoop has sold for a King’s ransom. It fetched $37,200 at Heritage Auctions, and it’s a truly prized piece of memorabilia. It was attached to the garage at Kobe’s childhood home in Pennsylvania, and is the hoop he used to help perfect his legendary jump shot. Bryant memorabilia is in very high demand since his death a year ago — prices have skyrocketed for signed basketballs, jerseys and, pretty much anything anything else Kobe. A signed piece of the hardwood from Kobe’s Staples Center — where he played his final NBA game — was auctioned off for more than $600k.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Katy Perry, Post Malone and J Balvin – will be featured on a new album marking the 25th anniversary of Pokemon. They are among the 11 artists each creating an original song for “Pokemon 25: The Album”, to be released later this year. The news was revealed following Malone’s Pokemon Day 25th anniversary virtual concert on Saturday.
• Bruno Mars — After an almost 2-year hiatus, he has announced a new song and album. He posted that he has teamed up with Anderson .Paak for a new band called Silk Sonic. The first new song drops this Friday, “with special guest host Bootsy Collins.”
• Nick Jonas – His brother Kevin made an appearance during Nick’s hosting/musical guest gig on “Saturday Night Live”. As Nick performed his monologue, Kevin, who was in the audience, asked him: “Are we good? Because I see you’re doing a lot of solo stuff. Are we still a band?” Nick assured him “The band is still together. I promise.”
• Imagine Dragons — Frontman Dan Reynolds appeared on “Good Morning America” alongside Apple CEO Tim Cook and Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith to announce the new “$8 Million, 8 Houses” campaign from Encircle, to create resource centers for LGBT+ youth. Reynolds donated his childhood home in Las Vegas, valued at $1 million, which will be the first Encircle home in the city.
• Alice Cooper — says his next studio album will be the first to feature the current lineup of his solo band. He said: “The whole idea is to show off how tight the band really is. So, if we write the songs, rehearse them on the road, record it on the road, and call the album “The Road”…that would be the concept for the whole album. And stories about the road.” He just released the “Detroit Stories” album.
• Bryan Adams – shared a photo on Twitter, featuring himself and his mother, Jane, in a hospital room, with the words: “Thanks to the incredible staff at @lghfoundation (lions gate hospital) in North Vancouver for taking such good care of my mum Jane.” The hospital responded, sending “warmest wishes” and wishing “a speedy recovery” to the 90-year-old.
• Morgan Wallen – His “Dangerous: The Double Album” has made chart history as the only country album to spend its first 7 weeks at #1 in the 64-year history of the Billboard 200. The only other country album to spend its first 6 weeks at the top was Garth Brooks’ “The Chase” in 1992.
• Gwen Stefani – is no stranger to an awards show stage, having won at the AMAs, Billboard Music Awards, Grammy Awards, MTV Video Music Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards, but for the first time, she has been nominated for an ACM Award. With fiancé Blake Shelton, Stefani is nominated in the Music Event of the Year category for their song ‘Nobody But You’.

ONLYFANS: THE TWITTER VERSION:
So, Twitter is rolling out a new feature that will allow users to pay for subscriptions to follow their favorite tweeters. The “Super Follows” feature will let users charge a fee starting at $4.99 per month for their subscribers to gain access to exclusive content. I’m not sure what you think of the idea, but shortly after the announcement was made at last week’s “Analyst Day” event, the hashtag “RIPTwitter” started trending. Twitter hasn’t given a release date yet for the new feature, saying the company will have “more to share” in the coming months.
(But if they’re charging $4.99, I’ll never see it!)
(How long until someone sets up an app where they’ll copy and post “Super Follows” material for half-price?)
(…but now that I think about it, there are some people on Twitter that I’d pay $4.99 a month NOT to see…)

WALKING DOWN THE AISLE:
You know those one-way arrows on the grocery store floor telling you which way to walk? Do you obey them…or just think of them as a “suggestion”? New research says directional arrows can be “highly effective” in reducing the rate of coronavirus transmission. The study, published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, found that when followed the one-way shopping aisles, the rate of direct transmission fell by 70%. Partial compliance cuts the rate by 11%. However, one-way measures had no effect on “wake” transmission — where a customer follows in the path of an infected customer in front of them.
(Any word on when 2 customers are standing there yakking while their carts block the entire aisle?)
(It’s a great idea and all…but it just doesn’t work in [***THIS CITY***], where people are still trying to figure out what a turning lane arrow means…)
(Do people get all uptight and say “their rights are being taken away” about those arrows, the same as with masks? Or they OK with having to walk up the next aisle, and back down the first one if they missed the peanut butter?)

DISTRACTED JAMMING:
A new study has found that most young adults are more likely to make sure their music playlists are just right than to adjust their mirrors and seats correctly before driving. Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Isreal say nearly every young driver they studied believes driving without music playing is “impossible”. And study authors say the wrong songs can actually make driving more challenging and young drivers more dangerous. Prof. Warren Brodsky said in a release that drivers between ages 18-29 are “so used to constant stimulation and absorbing great amounts of information throughout the day, that they don’t question how the type of tunes they play might affect concentration, induce aggressive behavior, or cause them to miscalculate risky situations.” In their study, 97% of young drivers told researchers they prefer listening to several short songs when taking a long trip. Nearly two-thirds said they play “fast paced” music on their way to work. And 90% put on upbeat dance music when driving to a party.
(The other 10%? Like me, are never invited to parties…)
(I can’t stand loud music when I’m driving. Or any music chosen by someone 19-29, for that matter…)

HOW TO GROW TALLER:
(…according to Dr. Brian Boxer Wachler, a Beverly Hills eye surgeon and TikTok’er. But keep in mind, these pointers aren’t going to help if you’ve already stopped growing…)
☞ Sleep 8-9 hours per night. As a teen, this is important because that’s when your body releases growth hormone, so that’s when you grow.
☞ Drink milk. Drinking cow milk increases growth hormone too, and also helps teens grow.
☞ Lift weights. It (you guessed it…) also increases growth hormone.
☞ Good posture. No explanation given, but we believe it’s a matter of making the best use of what you have.
The good doctor, who says that about 60% of our height is decided by genetics and 40% by the things we do, points out that while his parents were 5ft 7in and 5ft 5in, he grew to a height of 6ft 2.5in. (That’s a lotta milk!)

DID YOU KNOW?
TikTok’er “Stage Door Johnny” sent two postcards through Britain’s Royal Mail at the same time, one using first class postage, and the other with second class, in an experiment to see which would arrive first. In his video, Johnny puts the cards in the mail late on a Saturday, so they will go out first thing Monday. Checking his mailbox on Monday, he finds nothing other than a phone book. On Tuesday, he checks again, and says: “I’m not even joking they’ve both arrived the same day. I posted them Saturday and they both arrived Tuesday morning.” In the UK, first class stamps cost about 25% more than second class.

TODAY’S SLICE OF BS:
➠ A study found that organic produce may not be any healthier than conventionally grown items. (Of course, I don’t buy ‘organic’ for my health. I buy it to feel superior. So there’s that…).
➠ A British couple recently celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary. (Meanwhile, the rest of us just FEEL like we’ve been married for 80 years…)
➠ A former Marine has created an edible Crayon business. (You knew this would happen sooner than later. The writing was on the wall.)
➠ I just read a report that once claimed marijuana users have abnormally low blood flow to the brain. (Well, you know what this means, right? . . . you know . . . stuff . . .)
➠ Fact of the Day: The average speed of gas emitted from your backside is 7 mph. (Additionally, a fart can be louder than a quartet, piano and two guitar players. I found this out at Church last Sunday!)
