We’ve Got Our Sheet Together!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Corey Feldman promised that in showing his new documentary, “everyone on the planet will know who raped Corey Haim.” And while the release of “(My) Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys” on his website was marred with technical difficulties, with Feldman claiming it had been hacked, those at a Los Angeles premiere saw the film in its entirety. According to a journalist who attended the screening, Feldman makes the shocking claim in the doc that Charlie Sheen sexually abused his friend Corey Haim in the 1980s. Feldman does not claim that Sheen raped him, but previously stated that he “was raped emotionally. I was molested”.

★ Drew and Jonathan Scott, the Property Brothers, have yet another HGTV series — and this one won’t just feature open floor-plans. A-listers Brad Pitt, Melissa McCarthy, Viola Davis, Rebel Wilson and Michael Bublé are set to guest star. On “Celebrity IOU,” the famous guests will express their deep gratitude to individuals who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with “big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears,” according to HGTV. “Celebrity IOU” launches Monday, April 13.

★ Playboy is putting an end to its ‘Playmate of the Year’ title. Since 1960, the publication, founded by Hugh Hefner, has handed out the award to its favourite Playmate of the Month from the previous year, with Jenny McCarthy, Anna Nicole Smith, and Victoria Silvstedt all receiving the honor over the years. A Playboy representative has confirmed that the Playmate of the Year will be replaced by “Playmates of the Year”, which will “celebrate all twelve diverse Playmates of the Month” from the previous year.

★ The coronavirus scare has now made its way to two of the most popular shows on television, “Jeopardy!” and “Wheel of Fortune.” As of this week, both shows are being recorded without live audiences. There are 3 primary concerns, one of which is exclusive to Jeopardy. Alex Trebek, who is battling stage 4 pancreatic cancer, has a compromised immune system from chemotherapy and other treatments, and it is considered too risky to expose him to large audiences. The other main concerns are the fact that most audience members for both shows are older – and thus more susceptible to the virus, and the fact that a number of people who attend tapings are from out of town, and travel is another risk factor.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Billie Eilish — is known for covering herself in oversize T-shirts and baggy jeans. That’s why fans were shocked to see her peeling off her shirt during a concert Monday night in Miami. She stripped down to her bra, apparently making a bold statement about the pressures young women face in the music industry — and the online body shaming that comes with it.
• Coachella — This year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, scheduled for April, is being postponed because of the novel coronavirus. Coachella will now take place on the weekends of October 9 and 16, while the country music festival Stagecoach, held at the same venue, will take place October 23-25.
• Duran Duran – will headline BST Hyde Park 2020 on July 12. Singer Simon Le Bon said: ”I look at film of The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park back in ’69 and think of all the great acts who’ve performed there since. It really is an honor to add the name Duran Duran to that roster.”
• Sammy Hagar – is planning to launch a Las Vegas residency in June at the STRAT Hotel. He would settle into a one-weekend-per-month residency, and among the guests he’s invited to join him during the residency are Rick Springfield, Billy Idol, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, Neal Schon, Vince Neil and members of REO Speedwagon.
• Pearl Jam – are latest act to take action to avoid a potential health risk. The group announced late Monday that they are postponing their spring North American tour. It was set to kick off March 18 in Toronto, wrapping on April 19 in Oakland.
• Florida Georgia Line – will be among the artists to appear on the second season of “Songland”, a songwriter TV competition show featuring country songwriter Shane McAnally as a judge. Lady Antebellum and Martina McBride will also appear. The series brings in songwriters who compete to have superstars record their songs. Songland Season 2 will premiere on April 13 on NBC.
• Willie Nelson — his new concert special, “Willie Nelson: American Outlaw” will air on A&E on April 12. The two-hour program will feature performances, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage from concerts. The special will also include more than 20 performances by country music stars, shot at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena last January.
SORRY, SOMETHING WENT WRONG:
It might not be big news to many, but now it’s confirmed. Researchers at Lehigh University have found that even Amazon warehouse employees are susceptible to a case of “the Mondays.” The study’s authors found that the tendency for workers to be a bit slower to get things done after the weekend is a good explanation for why you haven’t received that package you ordered three days ago. The “Monday effect” has already been proven to influence finance, productivity, and psychology. But now, it appears to have an effect on supply chains as well. Besides just human factors, the Monday effect is also due to “process interruptions” that occur in shipping facilities when operations are shut down each weekend. Researchers believe the Monday effect leads to longer order processing times as well as possible errors. Data on over 8000,000 transactions revealed that it takes on average almost 10% longer to receive an order placed on a Monday than other weekdays. Why? Because over the weekend, all those Saturday and Sunday orders pile up in the warehouse, leading to a logjam come Monday morning. And then there’s the fact that bleary-eyed human employees tend to be a little slower and more prone to errors on Mondays as well…
(I was sure they were going to say that Amazon employees spend half their Mondays cyber-shopping!)
(Just like the jokes on this show, Monday orders are ruined by the delivery!)

CLEAN YOUR SCREEN:
In response to the coronavirus outbreak, Apple has updated its iPhone cleaning guidelines. Up until now, the company has always recommended that users stick to using a soft, slightly damp microfiber cloth to clean the screens of its products. Apple changed its tune this week after the Centers for Disease Control said that the coronavirus (which can live on your device for up to 9 days!) can be removed from hard surfaces to minimize the risk of infection, and to do so, it recommends cleaning keyboards and touchscreens with wipes or sprays containing at least 70% alcohol. Apple’s new instructions seem to agree, specifying that you should use the same “70% isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes…gently wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of your Apple product, such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. Don’t use bleach. Avoid getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge your Apple product in any cleaning agents.”
(I’m pretty sure the part about “don’t submerge your Apple product in cleaning products” has always been a thing!)
(I checked with I.T. on this – they said it’s a hardware problem – as usual!)
(So what they’re saying is that it’s no longer acceptable to lick my screen clean?)

FANCY A FANCY SPOT OF TEA?
How about a lunch fit for a queen? Or fit for THE Queen? Queen Elizabeth’s weekend residence, Windsor Castle, which is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world, has just opened its first restaurant. The The café is located in Edward III’s medieval undercroft (a cellar) which has been used for centuries as the estate’s wine cellar. It is now open to the public as the aptly-named “Undercroft Café”. At the new restaurant, on the same property that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle said their “I dos” in 2018, diners can enjoy English culinary classics like Victoria sponge, scones, and locally-made ice cream, along with the unique setting. The room is thought to have been first built in the 1350s and 1360s. The café’s creation is part of an initiative to draw more visitors to Windsor Castle.
(I’m pretty sure that’s the only restaurant you’ll ever go to with the owner’s face printed on the tip you leave!)
(Awesome. You can have a cup of royal-tea!)

• “Alfred Hitchcock Day”, his prolific film-making career spanned half a century – from 1921 to his last film, “Family Plot”, in 1976. His unique cinematic style in the genres of psychological thrillers and suspense movies earned him the title of ‘Master of Suspense’.
• “Girl Scout Day”, celebrating the creation of the first Girl Scout group in America (originally ‘Girl Guides’) on March 12, 1912 by Juliette Gordon Low in Savannah GA, who gathered together a troop of 18 girls and taught them how to milk a cow, tie up a burglar, and the complicated art of boiling water.
• “Plant a Flower Day”, a day to get a little dirt under your fingernails. Take a few minutes and plant a petunia today (or at least blow the dust off the fake ones)
