Today Christie’s East in NYC is auctioning off a whack of Hollywood and TV memorabilia. Judy Garland’s size 6B ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz” are expected to fetch $750,000 or more. Also expected to command big bucks — the ‘Cowardly Lion’s’ costume from “Oz” (made of real lion’s hide), a Rolls-Royce from the ‘James Bond’ classic “Goldfinger” and Christopher Reeve’s “Superman” capes and body stockings. But here’s a look at the . . .
BS ITEMS EXPECTED TO GO CHEAP IN TODAY’S SALE:
• Marlon Brando’s soiled girdle from “Apocalypse Now”.
• The script from “The Postman”.
• Silent film star Fatty Arbuckle’s lucky jockstrap.
• Ralph Machio’s autograph.
• Curdled stick of butter from the set of “Last Tango in Paris”.
• Abe Vigoda’s colostomy bag from “The Godfather”.
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
Tonight’s the much-ballyhooed ‘first gay romantic kiss on TV’ on the season finale of “Dawson’s Creek” as ‘Jack’ (Kerr Smith) and ‘Ethan’ (Adam Kauffman) lock lips (for the record — previous gay kisses on TV were ‘jokes’ not ‘romantic’) . . . Tonight‘s season finale is Michael J Fox’s final appearance on “Spin City” as he retires to fight Parkinson’s disease . . . Tonight in London there’s a “Diamond Tribute” to new ‘Dame’ Elizabeth Taylor in which 2 diamonds from her own collection will be auctioned as an AIDS fund-raiser.
MISSION MONEY:
Unless you’ve been in a coma, you know the summer movie season kicks off today with the opening of “Mission: Impossible 2”. “MI-2″ fax:
• Tom Cruise returns as ‘Ethan Hunt’, leading his IMF team to re-capture and destroy a deadly German-manufactured virus before it falls in the wrong hands. As with “M:I-1″ the plot is secondary to SFX and action.
• Co-stars Anthony Hopkins, Ving Rhames and Thandie Newton (Zambia’s only movie star?).
• The first movie made $465 million worldwide. Estimates predict “M:I-2″ will clean up $80 million-plus over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
• The new Tom Cruise biography “Cruise Control” by celeb biographer Frank Sanello is being released on the net as an ‘e-book’ today.

WHY YOU HAVEN’T SEEN YOUR SON THIS WEEK:
According to a new Northstar Research poll, 85% of Canada’s teenagers now use the Internet, three-quarters of them at home. On average, male teens go online 10 or more hours a week, teenage girls for 8 hours. (There’s at least 2 extra hours of naked women pix posted.)
WHY GRAMPS IS GRUMPY:
You’d think people who constantly blow their cool would die earlier right? Au contraire, mon frere! A leading psychologist says grouches live longer than people who are open, friendly and cooperative. The reason? Nice people tend to give in when bad things happen while cranky people fight back. So people who respond to health problems and aging by NOT suffering in silence tend to live longer. (Great, the boss will live forever.)
