He announced his departure during a livestream of his “Hot Mics with Billy Bush” podcast, saying that after 5 years as host, he plans to concentrate on developing his digital platform.” Bush reflected: “If I had a dollar for every time someone hollered, ‘Extra! Extra!’ to me at an airport or something, I’d buy Warner Bros.” He called it a “tremendous honor and privilege” to host the show, and called the experience an “awesome chapter” of his life.

★ The judge in the Sean “Diddy” Combs case could not pass up a “Lord of the Rings” reference. As jury selection for the rap mogul’s sex trafficking trial began, presiding Judge Arun Subramanian made a light-hearted joke about the extensive list of names and places in the case. The judge quipped that just like JRR Tolkien’s long books and equally long film adaptations, the list of people and places that may come up at the trial reminded him of the epic fantasy franchise.

★ Robert De Niro and Jenna Ortega ARE set to star in the new film “Shutout.” It will tell the story of ‘Jake Kejeune’, played by DeNiro, an aging pool hustler and one of the last practitioners of a dying art. BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Beyoncé – A disappointed fan is demanding a $700 refund after attending her “Cowboy Carter” tour, and claiming the tour opener on April 25 at LA’s SoFi Stadium was the “worst concert experience” of their lifetime. Since the tour began, Bey has faced backlash over sound quality, empty seats, obstructed seats, and her song choices.
• Doja Cat – There are 2 new tunes from her to hear this week. ‘Crack’ was recorded for her 2023 album, “Scarlet”, but didn’t make the final cut. Now, she has made it available on her website as a free download. Meanwhile, Doja stars in the new Marc Jacobs ad for the brand’s pre-fall 2025 campaign, and you can hear 30 seconds of the new song ‘Jealous Type’, which will be featured on her upcoming album, “Vie”. SHOOTING THE BULL

SLASHING LASHES:
So – and I’m as surprised that I’m saying this as you’re going to be hearing it – a new trend among men is…shaving off their…eyelashes. Why? Apparently, it’s being done in the belief that having no lashes makes them look “more masculine”. Yes, really. On TikTok, Instagram, and X, guys from Turkey to New Zealand are putting clippers and scissors frighteningly close to their eyeballs, in search of stubbier, “manlier” lashes. Or asking their barbers to go full buzz-cut. Experts, unsurprisingly, are not fans of the idea. One surgeon points out that eyelashes are crucial for eye health, and that by removing them, you’re putting yourself at risk for dry eyes, irritation, and, yes, even injury. Blame for this potentially harmful trend goes to the recent so-called “macho revival”, promoted by influencers like Andrew Tate and even Mark Zuckerberg, who has been talking recently about “masculine energy.”
(Finally! a trend that’s both pointless…AND pokes you in the eye!)
(Because nothing says peak masculinity like ocular discomfort!)

FLEXING YOUR REX:
It certainly would make a good conversation piece: A wallet or purse made from dinosaur skin. A group of luxury brands and biotech companies claims to be creating the first products made of extinct T-Rex leather. Wait. How? Apparently the new, old products are made by extracting collagen from ancient fossils. The company VML has joined forces with genomic innovators The Organoid Company, and sustainable biotechnology firm Lab-Grown Leather, to create what they’re calling the world’s first T-Rex leather made using the extinct creature’s DNA. The companies claim their next-gen material would be a high-quality, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly alternative to standard leather. The first products could be available in time for the Christmas shopping season.
(Finally! Something to match the gloves I’ve been wearing since the dawn of time!)
(Because nothing says ‘eco-friendly’ like resurrecting a 66-million-year-old apex predator!)

THE 1% SOLUTION:
It’s called the “1% rule”, and it could save you hundreds of dollars. And really, it’s just common sense. The 1% rule is gaining traction online as a simple way to help people put the pause on expensive, impulsive purchases – and anyone can use it. Here’s how it works: If you’re considering a substantial, but non-essential splurge – let’s say concert tickets, an hi-end espresso machine, or a sweet getaway – and it costs more than 1% of your annual income, STOP RIGHT THERE. Then, give yourself 24 hours to think it over, and consider whether it’s really worth it. The concept was first posted by Glen James of “My Millennial Money” on CNBC. Aimed at millennials, the 1% rule is a good way to keep things in perspective, and consider whether that expenditure is going to “derail your finances”, according to James. The secret, however, is to remember NOT to eventually say “yes” to too many of your paused purchases, following the cooling off period. For the record, if you earn $50,000 a year, 1% amounts to $500.
(Think before you make a big purchase? Wow — it’s almost as if what your dear old dad drilled into your head since you were 5 – was RIGHT!)
(My problem? I pause so long before spending my money that by the time I’m ready to buy, it isn’t on sale anymore!)

BOOMER COMPLAINTS:
People online have been posting their own “Boomer complaints”. As near as I can tell, these are the things that Boomers stereotypically complain about – that people feel are actually worth complaining about. Here are some of the best recent examples:
My most boomer complaint is…
⇒ “leaf blowers should be illegal” — *sigh*
⇒ “Wired headphones are better than Bluetooth earbuds. I don’t to have charge wired headphones & the mic is way better, plus they’re hard to lose” – Druggernaut Gasoline Dan
⇒ “car companies taking away buttons…I want to turn the dial and change my ac temp” — alana
⇒ “why is the restaurant so [***BLEEP***] dark?” — ARI
⇒ “needing to download an app for every [***BLEEP***] thing” – talk gently not mentally
⇒ “TikTokkers & Influencers do NOT belong on red carpets” — Rey
⇒ “I hate being asked ‘are you using the app?’ at every single fast food place” — Zerconil
⇒ I cannot handle doing 2 step authentication on every app…for the rest of my life” – Missy
⇒ “nobody says ‘you’re welcome’ when they’re told thank you” – TAYLOR (Thank you, Taylor!)
(What’s YOUR biggest Boomer complaint…aside from the fact that people need to know that every pic posted on IG does NOT require music!?!?!?!)

DID YOU KNOW?

Consistent screen use has been linked to a greatly increased the risk of neck pain, according to a new review published in the journal BMC Public Health. Study authors looked at data from 25 studies, involving more than 43,000 participants from 13 countries. They found that sedentary behavior, including screen-based behavior such as using mobile phones, computers or watching TV for 6 hours per day or more, was closely associated with participants’ complaints of neck pain. Using mobile phones was found to be the riskiest screen-based activity, increasing the likelihood of neck pain by 82%. (I have a “hunch” my neck pain’s only going to get worse…!)

BS REASONS TO REMAIN CHILDLESS:
• Think of the time you’ll save not having to post 12 pics of your kid to Instagram every day.
• So you can sit in the bathtub without impaling your butt on a ‘Transformer’.
• Because children cost money — and Nike won’t hire your kid for at least 3 or 4 years!
