Good Morning, Sheetheads!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Prince William’s role at his father’s coronation has been revealed — but Prince Harry has been snubbed. After the Archbishop of Canterbury pledges his allegiance to King Charles III on Saturday, the Prince of Wales will follow suit, according to the Liturgy of the Coronation Service. Prince William will kneel before his father, who will already have been crowned, and place his hands between the king’s and recite the Homage of Royal Blood. He is the only member of the royal family who will honor King Charles in speaking capacity during the ceremony. A role for Harry in the coronation was not included in the Liturgy, meaning he’ll play no official part in the ceremony.

★ Don’t ask Bill Hader to sign a piece of “Star Wars” memorabilia — because he won’t. He served as “voice consultant” in creating the sounds of droid BB-8 in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and its sequels. During a recent podcast, the “Barry” star explained that there was a time when he would happily sign whatever was presented, but recalled the moment he had a change of heart. Quote: “One time I saw somebody and they had their kid come up to me to sign a BB-8 thing and it was 3 in the morning…we went to an after-party thing and it was super late and this guy kept his kid up all night. [He was like], ‘Go over there so he’ll sign it so I can sell it online’”. Now, Hader says he “not signing any of this (stuff).”

★ Miley Cyrus’ mother, Tish Cyrus, is engaged to Dominic Purcell after the “Prison Break” star proposed in Malibu over the weekend. Tish confirmed the news via Instagram, with 2 pics of the pair cuddling, with the caption: “A thousand times…. YES @dominicpurcell.” 55-year-old Tish and Purcell, who is 53, went Instagram-official last November. That was shortly after her ex-husband, Billy Ray Cyrus, officially moved on with Australian singer Firerose.

★ Robert Pattinson will star in a new serial killer movie coming to Netflix. The “Batman” actor will play the lead character in the “black comedy taking on serious issues” from “Don’t Look Up” filmmaker Adam McKay. Robert Downey Jr., Amy Adams, Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler will also have prominent roles. The film, titled “Average Height, Average Build” will see Pattinson as a serial killer who hires a lobbyist to change laws so he can easily get away with his murders. He winds up becoming a hero in Washington while hiding his true motives. Filming starts this summer.

★ Will Smith owes Chris Rock an apology and some credit for the newfound popularity of one of his older films. Following Rock’s “Selective Outrage” comedy special in March, the 2004 animated film “Shark Tale” started gaining traction on the streaming charts, breaking into the Top 5 and cementing itself as the #1 kids’ movie. Why? During the comedy special, Rock threw a few metaphorical punches at Smith, following the Oscars slapping incident. At one point, Rock specifically mentions Smith’s character in Shark Take, saying: “Will Smith played Muhammed Ali in a movie!…I played ‘Pookie’ in New Jack City. … Even in animation, he’s bigger: I’m a zebra, he’s a shark.”

★ A Twitter account used the site’s Twitter Blue video feature to upload “The Super Mario Bros. Movie” in its entirety, where it was seen by millions of users before being taken down. The movie, which was posted on Saturday night in 2 parts by a page with 1.1 million followers titled “vids that go hard,” stayed online for at least 7 hours before being taken down by Twitter moderators. It was viewed an estimated 9 million times. The leak was possible thanks to a feature available exclusive to Twitter Blue subscribers that allows them to upload high quality videos of up to one hour in length.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Lewis Capaldi — has recorded a song with Calvin Harris – but no one knows where it is. The ‘Someone You Loved’ singer recorded with Harris 2 years ago, but admitted they’re unsure whether it will ever see the light of day because “He put it on his laptop and then lost it or something.”
• Katy Perry – has lost a 15-year legal dispute brought by Australian designer Katie Perry. Sydney-based Katie Perry claimed the pop singer disregarded her trademark by selling clothing merchandise on her Australian tours between 2014-18. Quote from the judge: “This is a tale of two women, two teenage dreams and one name.”
• Aerosmith — has announced its 40-date “Peace Out” farewell tour for this fall. It begins Sept. 2 in Philadelphia and is scheduled to wrap up Jan. 26, in Montreal. The only other non-US date is Sept. 12 in Toronto. The Black Crowes will serve as opening act. Tickets go on sale this Friday.
• Bachman-Turner Overdrive – co-founding guitarist/vocalist Tim Bachman died Friday at 71. He was with the group from 1973-74, appearing on their first 2 albums. He returned in 1984 for 4 more years, before launching a career as a realtor in the ‘90s.
• Black Sabbath – The Birmingham Royal Ballet will present a ballet inspired by their music in the metal icons’ hometown this September. It will feature 8 classic songs reinterpreted for the stage, accompanied by original music. Tony Iommi quote: “I never thought for a minute we would have people dancing to Black Sabbath and War Pigs and Iron Man.”
• The Judds – Sunday, actress Ashley Judd marked the one-year anniversary of her mother Naomi’s death with a reflection published in TIME. Meanwhile, the late Country Music Hall of Famer’s former personal manager, Michael P. Dolan, has sued her estate, alleging he’s still owed money from a TV special the duo was involved in more than 20 years ago.
• Dierks Bentley – teased his new line of Desert Son merch on Instagram. In a reel, he said: “Here at the world-famous Station Inn and I’m doing a whole photoshoot for all the new Desert Son stuff with Flag & Anthem. Can’t wait for you to check it out! It’s awesome.” Desert Son is a clothing line inspired by his personal style. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/45f2tb5d
• Shania Twain – not only launched her “Queen of Me Tour” in Spokane WA on Friday, she also dropped the “Queen Of Me: Royal Edition”, the deluxe version of her latest album. The extended 18-song record includes 4 new songs, including a duet with Breland on ‘Inhale/Exhale AIR’.

SHOOTING THE BULL

STRESS DISTRESS:
The bad news is this: new research has confirmed that stress actually ages the body. The good news: It only takes a few days to recover. Scientists at Duke University School of Medicine found that the biological age of humans and mice rapidly increases in response to various forms of stress, such as surgery, major illness, childbirth and severe COVID-19. The researchers used “DNA methylation clocks” to measure changes in biological age in humans and mice in response to various stressful stimuli. Their results revealed that biological age may increase over relatively short time periods in response to stress but trends back towards its original level following stress recovery. The researchers feel that “reducing biological age and the ability to recover from stress may be crucial determinants of successful aging and longevity.”
(Here’s my “catch-22” problem: Stress causes ageing…and the main cause of stress in my life IS ageing!)
(I’m so stressed that last night I woke up screaming – then I realized that I hadn’t fallen asleep yet!)

‘SHORT’ TEMPERS:
It’s no secret that parenting isn’t easy. And a recent poll backs that up. A survey of 2,000 Moms and Dads with kids under the age of 4 found that parents have a disagreement with their children about every other day. Moms were more likely than dads to let their kids go to bed later (59% vs. 48%), but dads find themselves bargaining more over bath time (37% vs. 28%). And what about those famous toddler temper tantrums? Three-quarters of respondents (74%) said their kid has thrown a tantrum in the last month, with the average child throwing about 4 per week. And what are some of the causes of these tantrums? Here are the “greatest hits”, according to the exhausted parents:
• “Because he couldn’t fit a toy in his toy car.”
• “Because the dirt on the floor was a monster.”
• “I gave her spaghetti and she doesn’t like the color red, so she refused to eat it.”
• “His shirt wasn’t pants.”
• “He lost his pet worm.”
•  “I wouldn’t let them play in the toilet.”
(Even worse, tantrums are contagious. ‘Cause if my kid has one, either his brother will follow shortly, — or I will!)
(Parents: Add to the list. What odd thing caused your kid to lo-o-o-o-se it?)

NEW SOCIAL:
An invite-only alternative to Twitter has been growing in popularity over the past few weeks, as users unhappy with some of Elon Musk’s changes, hunt for other platforms. Bluesky  (pron. ‘Blue Sky’) was developed by former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey. It works a lot like Twitter does, with users setting up a profile and able to post, repost, and like and reply to other users. You can also follow others “in your network”, and the timeline is split into 2 feeds: One containing posts from users you follow, and a “What’s Hot” section that displays popular posts. At this point, the app is only available to those with an invite or on the waiting list. Celebs including Chrissy Teigan, Dril and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have all joined Bluesky, and so far, most users seem to be using it mainly to bash Twitter. Oh, one more point of interest: Another Bluesky user is Grimes, Elon Musk’s ex-girlfriend. LINK: https://bsky.app/
(I had no interest in this until I found out you need an invitation to join. Now I GOTTA get one!)
(It’s only a matter of time until either Zuckerberg or Musk buys this thing – and wrecks it!)

THE PLAIN TOOTH (sorry…):
An NYC dentist has revealed what he calls the 4 mistakes people make that are ruining their teeth. Dr. Gerry Curatola, the founder of Rejuvenation Dentistry, says you should avoid these at all costs…
✗Mouthwash: Curatola calls it “another manmade creation by the consumer products industry.” He says experts warn against frequent usage due to potential teeth staining from dyes, removal of the mouth’s healthy microbiome and even a potential cancer risk.
✗Root Canals: This treatment involves removing bacteria and decay from the tooth, disinfecting the area, filling the roots, and sealing them to prevent further decay. The good dentists says “It’s the only procedure we do where we keep human dead tissue inside you.” According to him, “These are bacteria and bacterial byproducts that can dysregulate your immune system.”
✗Charcoal toothpaste: Activated charcoal has surged in popularity with promises of whitening teeth and providing fresh breath. But Curatola warns it can be abrasive: “It’s the equivalent of using Ajax on your teeth. If you’re brushing with it every day, you’re going to wave your enamel away, and your teeth are going to get more sensitive.”
✗ Metal Fillings: While not widespread anymore, the dentist warns that mercury content in the fillings has the potential to release mercury vapor into the mouth, which could be inhaled by the lungs.
(Also bad for your teeth: Most TikTok trends…and hockey!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Giving table scraps to your puppy might be good for its tummy, says a new report. Chronic enteropathy (CE), the name for gastrointestinal disorders lasting 3 weeks or longer, is a common problem in older dogs. But a study published in Scientific Reports has found that diet at a younger age may play a role in these problems in later life. The team concluded that “giving the dog human meal leftovers and table scraps during puppyhood (2–6 months) and adolescence (6–18 months) were protective against CE later in life.” (…good for them unless, of course, I was in charge of cooking the family meal that day…)

BULL’S BITS

BS WHACK FACTS:
✓ “Dessert stomach” is a real thing.  Your gut expands upon contact with sugar, making room for dessert, even after having the feeling of being full.
✓ King Charles & Prince William never travel in the same plane. That’s because if there is a crash, one needs to survive.
✓ Brass objects, including doorknobs, sterilize themselves after about 8 hours because bacteria have a hard time surviving on brass.
✓ 15 minutes of shivering from cold temperatures can be the metabolic equivalent of 1 hour of exercise.
✓ Teflon is the only known material to which geckos are unable to stick.
✓ When being photographed, instead of “cheese”, people in the Victorian era said “prunes.”
