Now the bad news: So far, it’s only scheduled to run in the UK and Ireland in June. “Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun: Bad Blood” will be a 2-parter, focusing on what happened after Braun bought the rights to Swift’s first 6 albums in 2019, leading to her decision to re-record them.
• Cyndi Lauper – The documentary “Let the Canary Sing” will make its streaming service debut on Paramount+ on June 4. Directed by Alison Ellwood, the trailer features footage from throughout her career, plus interview clips from Lauper, Billy Porter, Boy George, Patti LaBelle and more. • Pearl Jam – couldn’t let the lone Canadian appearance in their current tour pass without paying tribute to their friends in The Tragically Hip. During the group’s Sunday show in Vancouver, Pearl Jam segued from their own song ‘Daughter’ into a short cover of The Hip’s ‘Bobcaygeon’. The Tragically Hip responded on X, writing: “We love you guys.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/mr28hmeu
• Rush – Alex Lifeson says he has been jamming Rush songs with former bandmate Geddy Lee. He told Ultimate Classic Rock: “We get together one day a week over at his place. We just picked some Rush songs and we started playing them and we sound like a really, really bad Rush tribute band.” The group played its final concert in 2015.
• Tyler Hubbard – says that when recording his current hit ‘Back Then Right Now’, he was fully aware that he and the other musicians were “pulling a lot of 80s nostalgia”, so he simply told them to “keep leaning into that, whatever that thing is” because it felt “classic and unique at the time.” LINK: https://tinyurl.com/36sck4y2
• Lainey Wilson – has shared the name of her new bar on Nashville’s Broadway Street. Staying true to her famous fashion, it will be called: “Bell Bottoms Up Bar”. She posted on X that the establishment will open “later this summer in the heart of country music city.” It’ll be in the former location of “FGL House”, which was partly owned by Florida Georgia Line. SHOOTING THE BULL
DR. AI:
If you were thinking that one benefit of the rise of AI is that you might have better access to medical advice, think again. A Washington State University study has found that visiting a doctor is still your best bet when it comes to diagnosing and treating cardiovascular issues. Researchers evaluated ChatGPT-4’s ability to assess the risk of a heart attack among simulated patients experiencing chest pain. It turns out that the AI system provided inconsistent conclusions and failed to use approved methods to assess a patient’s cardiac risk. In short, AI may be able to pass a medical exam, but it can’t replace your cardiologist yet – and the researchers believe these results could hold true for other afflictions as well.
(But on the other hand, it’s a lot easier to get an appointment with Dr. A.I. — and he’s generally on time!)
(Oh, well – back to Dr. Google, then!)

COMPLIMENTARY ADVICE:
Yes, it’s true – everyone loves to receive a compliment. But which is the best one to give? It turns out that we love hearing that our home is clean when guests come over. And what’s more, according to a poll, 43% of us agree: One of the BEST home compliments is: “Your home smells so good!” The OnePoll survey of 2,000 adults in the US looked at how home fragrances play a role in cleaning routines. 55% of respondents said that the way a home smells is even more important than how it looks. Other favorite home-related compliments included that the place has a good vibe (37%) and that it looks clean (52%). The poll also found that the most common signs that your home needs a good cleaning are: when there’s visible dust (57%), and when it starts to “feel” unclean (48%). And 46% said they feel the need to clean when their home doesn’t smell fresh.
(We have teenage boys. Our home NEVER smells fresh…!)
(A little advice from experience here: When telling someone that their home smells good, NEVER say it with a surprised tone to your voice!)

SOUR POWER:
It’s the hottest new trend – aside from asking women if they’d rather be stuck in a forest with a man or a bear, that is. This one is the hottest new trend among foodies: Eating lemons. And if you think THAT sounds like the kind of ordeal that no one should put themselves through, just to make it worse, these people are also eating the peel! The trend started when a TikTok user discovered a type of “snackable lemons” made by an Italian company called Lemon Snack. It grows small, low-acidic lemons with an edible peel (said to be rick in antioxidants), and these lemons are made to take a bite out of – no peeling necessary. So, TikTok user @lalaleluu posted a video (with over 9 million views) where she says she found the snack at her grocery store in Germany. The influencer put some salt and chili powder onto the lemon for taste, and pronounced it “so awesome”. Another user cut it into slices and added honey and Tajin, calling it good, but “very sour”. Oddly, her friend said that the concoction “tasted like pepperoni”, and is the type of meal you make when your parents forget to buy groceries”. LINK: https://tinyurl.com/3ha6778z
(Has this poor girl never heard of DoorDash?)
(Now I can finally see why they’re trying to ban TikTok!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Researchers from the University of Waterloo have some bad news for both short and tall motorcycle riders: Your bike doesn’t fit. Using computer software, the team found that it is very difficult for someone who isn’t “average” height to get comfortable on a motorcycle. As a result, tall riders must constantly fix their position and posture on the bike, and flex their joints from discomfort. Shorter riders have even more trouble because there are fewer ways for them to adjust the seat, the handlebars, and foot pegs. (Maybe adjust the height of the road?)

• “Lost Sock Memorial Day”, a day to remember those singular hose that went into the washing machine or dryer, never to return. (And play ‘Taps’ for them?)
• “Moscato Day”. Moscato, or Muscat in Italian, is one of the oldest known varieties of grapes. Today, raise your glass and toast National Moscato Day.

Forego those posted warnings from the government — and rip off those tags! And if you’re really gutsy, do the pillows too.
• Hurray for Buttons Day”. Button collecting, which is most popular in the United States, varies from people keeping buttons in a container for future use, to casual collecting, to competitive collecting. (Competitive collecting??)
• “Childhood Depression Awareness Day”, first designated by the National Mental Health Association in 1997. Also known as “Green Ribbon Day”, today, we’re encouraged to wear one to create awareness.
• “Make-A-Book Day”. It takes place during National Family Reading Week, a week that started in 1995 to bring families together to read. On Make-A-Book Day, families must first make a book, before reading it!
