BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
Brad Pitt’s latest film, “The Tree of Life”, has been booed at the “Cannes Film Festival” (you get your chance to join the boos cruise when it opens in theaters May 27th) . . . Meantime, Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut, the Bosnian War film “In the Land of Blood & Honey”, got picked up by a distributor at Cannes and will hit theaters December 23rd (so who’s the breadwinner in the family now, Brad?) . . . NBC-TV has reportedly rejected producer David E Kelly’s “Wonder Woman” pilot, starring Adrianne Palicki (so it’s back to the drawing board, hopefully for her icky wardrobe too) . . . TMZ reports that 24-year-old Lindsay Lohan is telling friends she’s serious this time – no drugs, no booze, no breaking the law ever again – for the rest of her life (deja vu all over again) . . . 81-year-old Motown Records founder Berry Gordy Jr is reportedly investing $100 million in a Broadway musical about his life, set against the backdrop of the 1960s civil rights movement (if nothing else, the music should be great – he owns the rights to most of the Motown catalogue) . . . 47-year-old movie actor Mike Myers is about to become a dad for the first time via wife Kelly Tisdale, whom he secretly wed last Fall (bet it’s a “Shrek”-themed nursery) . . . And self-involved 38-year-old actress Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she burned off her eyebrows last year when her new rotisserie barbecue exploded (there are people who’d pay to watch this!).

• Ben Harper – Today he releases his 10th studio album, “Give Till It’s Gone”. It features collaborations with Jackson Browne and Ringo Starr.
• Beyoncé – Her new video for “Run the World (Girls)” has been delayed as she’s said to be ‘perfecting it’. There’s no new release date as yet.
• John Rich – Today he releases 2 EPs: “Rich Rocks” and “For the Kids”, paying tribute to his favorite charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Rich is currently one of the final 2 contestants on NBC-TV’s “Celebrity Apprentice”. The season finalé airs this coming Sunday.
• Katy Perry – Her album “Teenage Dream” has set another record. With its wealth of hit singles, she has now become the first artist to spend 52 consecutive weeks in the Top 10. She began the streak with “California Gurls”.
• Kings of Leon – People.com reports frontman Caleb Followill has quietly married model-girlfriend Lily Aldridge at the San Ysidro Ranch in California in an intimate ceremony with just family in attendance.
• Lady Gaga – She’s split from her longtime boyfriend, 30-year-old heavy-metal drummer Luc Carl. Was it a “Bad Romance” or just a fiercely grueling schedule? We guess the latter.
• Miranda Lambert – The newlywed has a new tattoo, a pink paw-print heart placed on the ankle that now sleeps next to Blake Shelton’s ankle.
• Rihanna – She’s started following ex-boyfriend Chris Brown on Twitter and he’s reciprocated by adding her to his list. According to website MediaTakeOut.com, they’ve since privately communicated at least a dozen times. One word, girl … dumb!
• The Who – Roger Daltrey is taking “Tommy” on a 6-week North American tour beginning September 13th in Hollywood FL. He’ll perform the classic album in its entirety, using visuals to accompany the songs. Pete Townshend will not be a part of the tour.

New York City has announced that its high-tech new taxicabs, Nissan NV200s, will include a so-called ‘low-annoyance horn’, which promises to reduce ear-splitting honks. But what would a low-annoyance horn sound like? The city’s taxi commissioner says it will be ‘less grating, less sharp and jagged’. (Throughout Manhattan posted signs warn of a $300-fine for horn-honking, a warning that falls on deaf ears … thanks to all the horn-honking.)

People with fewer qualifications are prone to age more quickly according to a new study of some 400 men & women. DNA evidence suggests cellular aging is more advanced in adults with no qualifications compared with those who have a university degree. So why would that be? Experts think education might help people lead more healthy lives. (Or maybe the binge drinking and junk-food consumed during all-night cram sessions convinces you to clean up your act?)

FEELING TESTY?
Falling in love causes changes in men’s and women’s testosterone levels. The levels fall in men and rise in women so that they become more like each other. Italian scientists at the University of Pisa have made that discovery while studying people in love. Interestingly, 2 years afterward, when the same people were tested while no longer madly in love … their testosterone levels were back to normal. (Scientific proof that when we’re in love we become one … or at least closer to it.)

A Nepalese Sherpa named Apa has broken his own record for ‘Most Climbs of Mount Everest’ by scaling the world’s tallest peak for the 21st time. He first climbed Everest carrying equipment for mountaineers in 1989 at age 12 and has repeated the feat almost annually since. This time he’s leading an environmental expedition that plans to carry down tons of garbage left behind by previous climbers. (Big Mac wrappers … they’re everywhere.)
