Bully For You!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Today a white Cadillac driven by late actor James Gandolfini on the hit TV mob drama “The Sopranos” (1999-2007) is heading to the auction block. The 2003 Cadillac Escalade ESV, used by Gandolfini’s mob boss character ‘Tony Soprano’ in the show’s final 3 seasons, goes under the hammer as part of the Massachusetts-based RR Auction sale. It was one of 2 identical models used during production (the other sold for $49,500 in 2008). It bears the actor’s autograph on a panel above the glove box and on the inside of a sun visor.

★ Shia LaBeouf is watching all his movies in an NYC theater, right now. LaBeouf fans in NYC can join the (weird) actor as he watches them in reverse order over 3 days until midday tomorrow in what he’s dubbing the #AllMyMovies project (admission is free). He has close to 50 acting credits on his résumé since he began his career in 1998, so watching them all is truly a marathon undertaking. He began the viewing at the Angelika Film Center on Tuesday and is continuing 24-hours-a-day. The ‘project’ is also being live streamed.

★ 43-year-old wrestler-turned-actor Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson (“Furious 7”) has announced via Twitter that he and his longtime girlfriend, Lauren Hashian, are expecting a baby girl. Quote: “I was raised by and live with amazing and strong women, so the universe felt we needed one more … it’s a baby girl!! Thank you guys so much for the awesome support and love you’ve sent Lauren and myself from around-the-world.” Johnson already has a 14-year-old daughter from his previous marriage to Dany Garcia.

★ And “Twilight Saga” author Stephenie Meyer is developing a new TV fantasy series. The best-selling writer has teamed up with Lionsgate to executive produce “The Rook”, based on the 2012 novel of the same name by Daniel O’Malley. The thriller centers on a strong female protagonist with extraordinary powers who is employed by a mysterious British government agency to defend the country from supernatural threats. No details so far on where and when the series will air. A sequel to “The Rook”, titled “Stiletto”, is slated for publication next year.

• “Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (NBC/CTV2) – Tim McGraw again.
• “Wendy Williams” (syndicated) – Ciara (“Jackie”).

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Adele – She admits to BBC that drunk tweeting (aka ‘TWI’) got her into Twitter trouble. So her peeps decided there’d be no more tweets without supervision. Though she says she’s not a drinker any more, her tweets now have to be signed off by 2 screeners.
• Cobra Starship – After 10 years of catchy pop-punk jams, they’ve officially announced they’re breaking up. It appears their August single with Icona Pop, “Never Been in Love”, will be the last new music from the band.
• Ed Sheeran – He tells “Ellen DeGeneres” he’s quit smoking … again. He previously gave up cigarettes and alcohol for a whole year back in 2011. Now after 10 years of puffing in total, he’s quit cold turkey, at least for a week-and-a-half.
• Jason Aldean – His rep has confirmed the country star did, in fact, dress as rapper Lil Wayne for Halloween. An online pic of the getup which included dreadlocks and black-face makeup has caused a flurry of controversy. The publicist has offered no apology.
• Snoop Dogg – He’s launched his own brand of marijuana products. Colorado-based ‘Leafs By Snoop’ offers a range of cannabis flowers and concentrates in 8 different strains. The collection also features candy and chocolate bars infused with cannabis oil.

COMING ATTRACTIONS:
A BS selection of movies in the making …
• “Beat-Up Little Seagull” – Michelle Pfeiffer & Kiefer Sutherland star in this drama that follows the life of a fragile woman who struggles to find footing in a fast-paced world, all the while hiding her struggles from her new boyfriend. Filming on the indie production is now underway in NYC. Celebrated fashion photographer Andrew Dosunmu is directing.
• “Felt” – Liam Neeson is signed to star as Watergate informant ‘Deep Throat’. It was first revealed in 2005 that it was FBI Deputy Director Mark Felt who worked with “Washington Post” journalists Bob Woodward & Carl Bernstein to blow open the 1972 ‘Watergate Affair’ which eventually ended the Nixon presidency. “Felt” is coming in 2017.
• “Labirintus” – “Gremlins” director Joe Dante is helming this supernatural thriller set in an abandoned Soviet research lab hidden within the ‘Hungarian Labyrinth’, which lies beneath Buda Castle in Budapest, Hungary. The plot revolves around a paranormal investigator and a psychiatric researcher who join forces to explore the facility. Casting is currently underway.
• “The Little Mermaid” – Chloe Grace Moretz has signed to star in Disney’s next live action adaptation of an animated hit. The original movie, based on Hans Christian Andersen’s classic tale of a mermaid who wishes to become human, was a box office smash in 1989. The live-action version promises a fresh take on the story. No screen date has yet been set.
• “The Revenant” – Leonardo DiCaprio has slept in animal carcasses and eaten raw bison liver to get into his role as frontiersman ‘Hugh Glass’ in this Western directed by Alejandro G Iñárritu (“Birdman”). The film sees ‘Glass’ set off on a revenge mission against a hunting team that leaves him for dead after murdering his young son. The gritty adventure opens January 8th.

HIGH-END REAL ESTATE:
Today in NYC the world’s most expensive dollhouse goes on display for the first time in its history. Created by miniaturist Elaine Diehl in the 1980s, Astolat Dollhouse Castle, is on public display at the Shops of Columbus Circle in Manhattan until December 8th. The 800-pound miniature home took more than 13 years to build and is now valued at $8.5 million. It has 10,000 miniature pieces of furniture and decor, including teensy oil paintings, rare books, gold chandeliers, and intricate pieces of jewelry spread over 29 rooms on 7 floors. (You’ll probably want to bring a magnifying glass.)

TV SHOWS THAT HAVE LASTED WAY LONGER THAN THEY DESERVE:
5. “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire” – Debuted in 1999. Still on-the-air in syndication.
4. “America’s Funniest Home Videos” – C’mon, they’re no longer on video, they’re on YouTube.
3. “Survivor” – 31 seasons, all the same. If Jeff says “Come on in, guys” one more time …
2. “Last Call With Carson Daly” – On at what 2 am or something? And in reruns half the year.
1. “The Jerry Springer Show” – Seemed edgy AF in the ’90s. After 25 years of faking it … meh.

BUN ENHANCEMENT:
Clip-on ‘man buns’ are here and they absolutely must be stopped. They’re currently being advertised on Groupon for $9.99. The ad reads: “Although the hairstyle oozes with fashion sense, those who sport it might find themselves outcasts in sports bars, motorcycle gangs, and [in any] machismo test.” So that’s why it’s important that the man bun is detachable, to “let you blend in with your surroundings”. Here is the advice on how to wear it …
– Comb your hair back toward the crown of your head, in a similar motion to lacquering a reclaimed-wood coffee table.
– Attach the man bun to your natural hair the way the lay public attached itself to Arcade Fire.
– Use bobby pins to secure the man bun. If you decide bobby pins are too mainstream, use antique paper clips instead.

WHY YOUR 40S ARE THE BEST YEARS OF YOUR LIFE:
Your 40s are the new 20s, are we right? Here’s why …
✓ You’ve made your peace with your family, even if that’s just in your head.
✓ With any luck your parents are still around and have finally realised that you are an adult who doesn’t need to have their hand held while crossing the road.
✓ You’ve learned to ignore what other people think about you.
✓ You know that you don’t like everyone you meet and that it works the same in reverse.
✓ You’ve learned to pretty much ignore fashion. You’re at an age when people just think you’re eccentric rather than badly dressed.
✓ If you have kids, they’re likely to be older. This enables you to dispense parenting expertise to everyone else.
✓ If it’s cold, you wear a coat. Even a scarf on a night out, with no embarrassment whatsoever.
✓ You rarely weigh yourself. When your waistband gets tight you eat less and exercise more.

FOR THE RECORD:
The new ‘Bond’ film “Spectre” has set a new Guinness World Record for ‘Largest Film Stunt’. The sequence that includes a massive explosion of a military base lasts more than 7.5 seconds. The scene was filmed in Morocco, and comes at the film’s climax, with ‘Bond’ (Daniel Craig) and ‘Madeleine Swann’ (Lea Seydoux) watching. “Spectre” opened Friday with director Sam Mendes returning to helm the film after directing “Skyfall”.
