★ “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth and his family have been rescued by coast guard after their catamaran ran aground close to the Canary Islands. The Australian actor was reportedly traveling with his pregnant wife, Elsa Pataky, and 18-month-old daughter India Rose when the vessel ran into trouble. Two rescue boats and a helicopter were sent in. Fortunately, no one was injured. Hemsworth is in the area to film “Heart Of the Sea”, the story of a whaling ship … that sinks.

★ Canadian actress Malin Akerman has separated from her Italian rocker husband after 6 years of marriage. “The Watchmen” beauty welcomed her first child, son Sebastian, with Roberto Zincone in April, but the new parents have since parted ways. An insider says it’s a sad time for Malin and she’s not yet ready to discuss it. Akerman most recently played Blondie singer Deborah Harry in the movie “CBGB”.

★”Big Bang Theory” star Kaley Cuoco is set to see in 2014 in style by marrying tennis player Ryan Sweeting on New Year’s Eve in Southern California. Cuoco’s rep confirmed her engagement in September, just 3 months after the couple started dating.
