★ 60-year-old AC/DC drummer Phil Rudd has been charged with attempting to arrange the murder of 2 men, along with possession of meth and cannabis. His Taraunga, New Zealand home was raided Thursday morning and he later appeared in a District Court. He is expected to return to court in 3 weeks. Rudd joined AC/DC in 1975, was kicked out in 1983, then rejoined in 1994 and has been with the band ever since. AC/DC are releasing a new album, “Rock or Bust”, later this year and were planning a world tour.

★ With Christian Bale bailing, Sony Pictures is moving quickly to find a replacement to portray late Apple founder Steve Jobs in an upcoming bio-pic that Danny Boyle is directing. Michael Fassbender is now confirmed to be in early talks to take on the role. Seth Rogen is also in talks to play Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. Based on Walter Isaacson’s biography “Steve Jobs”, the real-life drama is being adapted by noted screenwriter Aaron Sorkin. Sony acquired the movie rights following the Apple mogul’s death in 2011.

★ And Tori Spelling’s husband Dean McDermott is quitting the couple’s reality TV show “True Tori” after struggling with the televised exposure of his infidelity and depression battle. McDermott and Spelling have been attempting to save their marriage following his 2013 affair, and the personal drama has been captured on camera. He tells TV show “Access Hollywood” it has all been too much for him and he no longer wants to live his life in public. “True Tori” has also featured storylines about McDermott’s substance abuse issues.

The body’s internal clock is designed for us to be active in the day and asleep at night. The damaging effects of working against the body clock, from breast cancer to obesity, are well known. And now a joint team from the University of Swansea and the University of Toulouse has shown an impact on the mind as well. Their research suggests that working antisocial hours (aka night shifts) can prematurely age the brain and dull intellectual ability. A decade of shift work, for instance, can age the brain by more than 6 years. On the upside, there is hope of recovery after people stop working antisocial shifts. However, it can take as long as 5 years to return to normal. And retired shift workers still have lower sleep quality than people who have never worked nights.
