THEY’VE GOT BALLS:
It looks for all the world like an epic Winter battle is in the making, but it turns out the thousands of perfectly shaped snowballs that showed up on a beach in Siberia are the result of a natural phenomenon. The strange sight has emerged on the shore of the Gulf of Ob, just north of the Arctic Circle. Villagers from nearby Nyda have discovered about 11 miles of beach has been covered in the icy orbs, some the size of tennis balls and others about 3-feet-across. And while the spheres look man-made, scientists say the phenomenon is just a fluke of nature, a combination of the effects of wind, the lay of the coastline, and the temperature. (Toys ‘R Us should import this stuff!)

• ‘Exercise Desert’ – An area where exercise programs and facilities are either non-existent or unaffordable. (Uh, how about going for a walk?)
• ‘Speed Geeking’ – Similar to speed-dating but instead of meeting a new potential partner at each table, participants are welcomed by different presenters who talk them through various aspects of technology and how it can be used to make positive changes.
• ‘Thrisis’ – A period of age-related anxiety, stress, and self-doubt experienced by some people in their 30s. (“Shouldn’t we have bought a house by now?”)
AWFUL FIRSTS WITH YOUR NEW BABY:
There are fun firsts, such as the first time baby sleeps through the night and the first time your toddler takes a few steps. Then there are not so fun firsts, such as …
• Baby’s first blood test. They poke them in the foot with something that looks like a thumbtack.
• The first time your newborn son pees in your face while changing his diaper.
• Baby’s first cold. You feel miserable because baby feels miserable.
• The first bite while nursing. Teeth or no teeth it still really hurts!
• The first time they drool/spit-up/pee on a friend who doesn’t have children.
• The first cellphone assassination by dropping or drooling.
• The first time they poop in the bathtub.
• The first time you have to leave them with someone else, then the first time they cry because you left them with someone else.

BULL’S BITS
BS WAYS YOUR LAST RELATIONSHIP RESEMBLED A SLASHER FILM:
• The budget wasn’t very big and that’s why most of it took place in the basement.
• There was a lot of sex but, honestly, not as much as you were expecting.
• Your friends tried to warn you off but you didn’t listen and they mysteriously disappeared halfway through.
• That scenic drive through the middle of nowhere seemed like a good idea until the car broke down.
• At some point one of you said, “Why is this happening to us?”
• There’s probably going to be a sequel and it’s going to be the exact same thing but hopefully this time they cast hotter people.

TISSUE TEST:
Take votes on your recording line or website on whether bathroom tissue should be installed to roll ‘over-the-top’ or ‘from underneath’. This is a contentious topic that always generates a lot of reaction. For some reason ‘over-the-top’ people tend to be more militant, even resorting to re-installing toilet paper rolls ‘correctly’ when visiting someone else’s home.
BS WATER COOLER QUESTION:
Question: 15% of us say THIS keeps us from being productive at work.
