Tomorrow’s Show Prep Today!
BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Emma Stone will hit a major “Saturday Night Live” milestone when she joins the 5-timers club on the Dec. 2 episode. She’ll be joined on that week’s “SNL” by musical guest Noah Kahan. Stone will be the 25th member of the elite club of frequent SNL hosts. The last new inductee was Woody Harrelson, who joined the club last spring. The group also includes Steve Martin, who has hosted the show 16 times, and Tom Hanks, and Tina Fey (6 each). The all-time leader is Alec Baldwin, who has hosted 17 times.

★ A fourth “Creed” film is in development with star Michael B. Jordan set to direct, according to franchise producer Irwin Winkler. Jordan made his directorial debut with “Creed 3,” in which he also starred as heavyweight champ ‘Adonis Creed’. The third Creed movie premiered in theaters in March, and clobbered the box office with its $58 million debut weekend, a record-setting sum for the “Rocky” boxing franchise.

★ “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” caught some fire at the box office. The “Hunger Games” prequel secured the top slot at the domestic box office over a busy weekend, with an estimated $45 million total. The animated sequel “Trolls Band Together” came second with an estimated $30 million, ahead of the seasonal slasher “Thanksgiving”, which carved out about $10 million.

★ Just one day after R&B singer Cassie filed a lawsuit accusing Diddy, her former boyfriend, of sexual assault and abuse, the pair have agreed to an out of court settlement. The singer, whose real name is Casandra Ventura, said in a statement: “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.” In a separate statement, Diddy, real name Sean Combs, said: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

★ It’s been more than 4 years since Season 2 of HBO’s Big Little Lies”, but Nicole Kidman says Season 3 is on its way. During a Q&A at the CME Group Tour Championship, she said: “I loved Big Little Lies. We will be bringing you a third one, just FYI.” The casual remark has fueled speculation that a new installment may finally be coming together. The prospect has occasionally come up, and HBO has been largely non-committal.

★ Gerry Turner is ready to turn it up on the dance floor. The “Golden Bachelor” isn’t counting out a possible opportunity to join the next season of “Dancing With the Stars.” He told a reporter that he’d “be open to any and all opportunities”. The 72-year-old wouldn’t be the first reality star from Bachelor Nation to sign on for the ABC dancing competition. In years past, Melissa Rycroft, Trista Sutter, Jake Pavelka, Sean Lowe, Chris Soules, Nick Viall, Joe Amabile and Matt James have all taken a spin in the ballroom. But can he dance? He calls himself “an average guy”, and ranks his skills on the dancefloor “on a scale of 1 to 10, maybe a 5.”

• Evanescence – Friday, they released an expanded 20th-anniversary edition of their debut album “Fallen”. The newly remastered LP also contains bonus material, such as demos and live recordings plus rare B-sides. I mean, I did that for 23 seasons.” He explained that he intended to end his run after 20 or 21 seasons, but when the pandemic hit, he didn’t want to leave producers scrambling, “But I stayed too long for me to now miss it, I can promise you that.”
SHOOTING THE BULL
WHAT THE BLOOMSY HELL?
It’s the latest “job that you’d love to have that you’ll never get”: Subscription flower company Bloomsy is offering up a gig where they’ll pay someone $2,000 to watch and rate 12 Hallmark Christmas movies. The “special Christmas movie maven” will also receive “an ample supply of Ghirardelli hot cocoa” and 2 pairs of fuzzy socks to ensure their movie marathon is a cozy experience. The film fan chosen by BloomsyBox will be asked to rank each movie for its festivity factor, predictability quotient, chemistry check, tear-jerker test and replay value. In addition to the $2,000 payment, the winner will, of course, also receive a 12-month flower box subscription. Applications are being accepted through Dec. 3. LINK: https://www.bloomsybox.com/hallmark-movie-contest
(Great gig. And what’s especially awesome is THIS: If you’ve ever seen a Hallmark movie, you know that really, you only have to watch one of ‘em!)
(I’m pretty sure that anyone who is interested in watching all 12 of those movies – already has – this season!)

FRIENDS REUNION:
How often are you able to see your friends these days? According to a new poll, the average person spends just 4 hours a month socializing with friends – usually meeting up just twice. And more than a quarter of the 2,000 adults polled said they are spending less time in person with friends this year compared to last. The trend is most apparent among millennials aged 25-34, where 37% say they are struggling to find time for pals – compared to 33% of 35-44-year-olds. Gen Zers between 18-24 are the only age group spending MORE time with their FRIENDS this year, as opposed to less. The top 3 reasons for not spending more time with friends are distance (36%), a busy work schedule (35%), and family commitments (33%).
(…also their wife doesn’t want them hanging out with me anymore ever since that unfortunate garden hose incident. What? Just me?)
(I’m LUCKY to see my friends twice a month. Well, actually, now that I think about it, they’re lucky to see ME twice a month…!)

NEW GOOD NEWS:
➢ A dog named Daisy embraced her inner Lassie, leading her owner to a mineshaft where a missing cat was waiting to be rescued. After nearly a week of searching for her cat Mowgli, Michele Rose had “almost given up hope” of finding him. But suddenly, her dog started “going berserk,” running back and forth between their house and the nearby woods. Rose followed Daisy to an old 100-foot-deep mineshaft that Mowgli had fallen into. Rose calls her dog a “superstar”, and feels that without her actions, “Mowgli could still be down there, that’s for sure.” He was in good condition after firefighters rescued him, and happy to reunite with Rose – and with Daisy!
➢ A good Samaritan who has been surprising strangers with acts of kindness every day for 3 years has been honored with a statue. 20-year-old Sebbie Hall, born with a rare chromosome anomaly, works tirelessly to help others, and has founded his own charity to encourage others to follow his lead. Since dedicating his life to helping others at age 17, he has donated 400 coats and blankets to homeless charities, gifted 800 toys to children’s homes, raised money to buy computers for underprivileged classmates, and even used his own pocket money to pay for stranger’s coffees. Following a search for the UK’s kindest people by KIND Snacks, he has been crowned the UK’s 2023 Kind Hero and honored with a statue near Tower Bridge in London, alongside the likes of Captain Cook and Winston Churchill.

DID YOU KNOW?
Apparently, “cricketing” in order to fall asleep is a thing now. The term “cricket feet” has over 53 million views on TikTok, where sleepyheads are sharing videos of themselves explaining the technique that leaves them feeling ‘snug as a bug’. What is cricketing? These people swear that rubbing their feet together in bed — like a cricket — helps ease them into a peaceful slumber. In one video, a woman named Marissa shows herself doing the technique. Commenters claim the ritual is “comforting” and “relaxing”, and a physical therapist explains that the feet are loaded with nerve endings and acupressure points, that, when stimulated, “help regulate and calm your central nervous system.” (My wife has a similar, yet still effective, technique. She rubs her cold feet…on my back!) LINK: https://tinyurl.com/2x7futhz
