BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ LeVar Burton is set to host a game show version of the board game “Trivial Pursuit,” just months after “Jeopardy!” passed him over. On Wednesday, Hasbro’s content studio Entertainment One confirmed that Burton has signed on to host a show based on the classic game. The actor and longtime “Reading Rainbow” host will also serve as one of the show’s executive producers. Burton called Trivial Pursuit “one of the best-known brands in the gaming universe.” A release date has not been announced.

★ Not every idea the “Office” writers had got past John Krasinski. In the new book “Welcome to Dunder Mifflin: The Ultimate Oral History of The Office”, he reveals the one scene he outright refused to shoot. The scene was written for the season 8 episode “After House”, in which Krasinski’s character ‘Jim’ was supposed to “make out” with Pam’s replacement ‘Cathy’. But Krasinski recalls: “That’s the only time I remember putting my foot down … I remember saying things that I never thought I’d say before, like, ‘I’m not going to shoot it.’” He took his concern directly to creator Greg Daniels, who was convinced to scrap the cheating storyline.

★ Tom Holland has hinted that his time playing ‘Spider-Man’ may be coming to an end. In a new interview, he said that if he’s still playing the web-slinger 5 years from now, something’s “wrong” with his career. And he even suggested that a good future for the character would be to pursue a ‘Miles Morales’ version of Spider-Man, referring to the bi-racial 13-year-old comic-book version of the hero. That’s not to say Holland couldn’t do more as Spider-Man, considering he’s still far younger than Robert Downey Jr. was when he finally decided to call it quits as ‘Iron Man’.

★ What are two things that don’t “go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong”? Teenagers and “Grease,” according to 2 school administrations in Australia who have nixed the ’70s-made, ’50s-themed musical — and subsequent movie, from their theatrical repertoire. Students from 2 schools have reportedly protested against future productions of “Grease” at their respective institutions over their claims of the show’s “offensive, sexist and anti-feminist” themes.

DECADENCE OF THE DECADE:
From the “You Gotta See it to Believe it” department, Hershey has introduced its largest-ever Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup. “Reese’s Thanksgiving Pie” is – wait for it — is 9-inches (23cm) long — the diameter of a standard pizza — and consists of “3.25 pounds (1.5kg) of solid peanut butter and chocolate.” Reese’s says it came up with the monstrosity in order “to create a dessert that everyone wants a piece of. You can thank us later.” The chocolatier released 3,000 of the hubcap-sized desserts for $44.99. Unfortunately for fellow chocolate and peanut butter-holics, the pies sold out in just a few hours. The good news? You can still get your hands on one if you’re willing to spend top dollar. The Thanksgiving pies have started appearing on eBay – for up to $449 and counting.
(They can call it a “pie” all they want, but let’s not lose sight of what it really it – a fat-guy’s fantasy!)
(“Get my hands on one”? I want to get my hands COVERED in chocolate by one!)
(If you know someone who is a really good baker – you really need to treat them well this Thanksgiving!)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A 10-point buck sought sanctuary inside a Michigan church on opening day of deer hunting season. Pastors at Grace Sturgis encountered the buck inside the church’s auditorium on Monday before it leapt through a window and back into the wild. A video the church posted on Facebook shows the buck wandering around the church, and at one point, climbing stairs to a balcony. The buck didn’t appear to have any gunshot wounds and was bleeding just a bit from what appeared to be cuts from the glass. Besides the broken window, the only other damage was blood stains on the carpet. (Nice to see a church that isn’t after your bucks!)
➢ In the days of Ancient Rome, entering the Colosseum without a ticket would have meant you were about to be pitted against wild beasts and fellow gladiators. But for 2 tourists this week, it simply meant they wanted to enjoy a beer at one of the world’s most famous historical sites. They had climbed over high railings to get in, and walked up the ancient steps to the second level — before deciding that the famous arches pointing outwards to the city around it would be the perfect spot for a beer. Unfortunately for the men, their panoramic views of Ancient Rome were interrupted when passersby noticed them and called police. Both were were handed a $900 fine.
(Which sounds like a lot, but I feel like I pay the same for a beer every time I go to a stadium!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Three-quarters of adults believe that if they do a good deed, the next person will pay it forward. That’s according to a survey of 2,000 people. Helping someone with a task (61%), donating to someone in need (59%), saying “good morning” (53%), and holding a door open for someone (53%) are the good deeds respondents said they are most likely to perform in order to turn someone’s day around. The survey was conducted by OnePoll ahead of Giving Tuesday, which falls on November 30. Results show that good deeds cause the people who do them to feel happy (92%), relaxed (77%), and healthy (71%).
