It’s Another Running of the Bull!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
TODAY the annual “Victoria’s Secret Christmas Dreams & Fantasies” catalogue is out, featuring model Tyra Banks sporting a diamond-encrusted Heavenly Fantasy bra worth a staggering $10-million (2,900 diamonds weighing 112 carats set in 18-carat white gold – how come she didn’t tip over?) . . . TONIGHT CBS-TV airs “Genius: A Night for Ray Charles”, featuring Jamie Foxx, Mary J Blige, Elton John, Norah Jones, Stevie Wonder & others in a pre-taped concert at LA’s Staples Center (Ray Charles’ final album of duets has now sold more than a million units) . . . SUNDAY 30-year-old movie star Neve Campbell returns to the stage for the first time in 11 years, appearing in the NYC production “Syncopation” . . . Actresses Rebecca Romijn & Lara Flynn Boyle, models Rachel Hunter & Kate Moss, and the UK’s 45-year-old Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, have all stripped down to appear in nothing but heels and jewels for the upcoming book “Four Inches”, which will raise funds for Elton John’s AIDS Foundation (Britain’s “Sun” newspaper has started a campaign to encourage ‘Fergie’ not to inflict her wrinkled image upon us) . . . Brit bands Coldplay, The Darkness and Travis have agreed to participate in a  20th anniversary re-recording of Band Aid’s seasonal hit “Do They Know It’s Christmas?”and it’s hoped more acts will jump on the bandwagon (the 1984 original raised some $15 million for famine relief in Ethiopia) . . . And quickie-wed-then-quickly-shed Nicky Hilton has set her sights in a new direction – getting into the family business by opening her own hotel, preferably in Vegas (near lots of wedding chapels) QUOTE: “I’ve talked about it with people. I would design the place.” (Daddy oughta cut off the allowance and tell his kids to get a job!)

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Destiny’s Child – SATURDAY they’ll perform at the “Nordic Music Awards” in Oslo, Norway.
• Ozzy Osbourne – He must be getting older because wife Sharon is so fed up with his bad aim that she’s having urinals installed in the family’s British estate.
• U2 – NEXT WEEK Apple is launching iPods already loaded with the band’s new album “How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb”, well ahead of the CD release NEXT MONTH. The special digital music players will also feature selections from the band’s 25-year back catalogue.
• Britney Spears – Her head was reportedly airbrushed over a 2-year-old body shot for the cover of her “Greatest Hits: My Prerogative” CD because she’s unhappy with the way she looks now. But she’s still not pleased with the result. She is quoted in British magazine “New!” as saying, “I look like a porn star. And why the blonde hair? I am so over being blonde.”
• Diamond Rio – THIS WEEK they hosted a charity golf tournament that raised $155,000 and nobody even made it to the 2nd tee! The event was called on account of rain after golfers had completed only the 1st hole.

TODAY’S MOVIE OPENINGS:
• “Surviving Christmas” (PG-13 Comedy): Ben Affleck plays a lonely guy who revisits his childhood home and tries to rent the current inhabitants to serve as his family for the holidays. James Gandolfini & Christina Applegate co-star.
• “The Grudge” (PG-13 Horror Thriller): Sarah Michelle Gellar plays an American nurse living in Tokyo who is exposed to a mysterious supernatural curse that locks people in a powerful rage before claiming their lives and spreading to another victim. A remake of the Japanese film “Ju-On”. During filming Gellar discovered she’s allergic to Japanese water so for the shower scene she was dressed in a little tube top and … black Hefty garbage bags from the waist down.
• “I Heart Huckabees” (R-rated Comedy opens wide): Albert Markovski (Jason Schwartzman) hires ‘existential detectives’ (Dustin Hoffman, Lily Tomlin) to help him examine his life, including his battles with a nasty corporate exec (Jude Law) and his relationship with his girlfriend (Naomi Watts).

YOUR DEODORANT IS MAKING ME SICK!
According to a new study, aerosols and air fresheners used in the home can have adverse effects on the health of mothers and babies, as they can cause diarrhea and earache in youngsters and depression in mothers. Researchers found that 32% more babies suffered from diarrhea in homes where air fresheners or aerosols such as deodorant, furniture polish and hairspray are used daily. (How ironic … you try to freshen the air and end up with a load of poopy diapers.)

FORGET THE LOCK-OUT, HERE’S THE LOCK-UP:
TODAY former St Louis Blues hockey player Mike Danton is scheduled to be sentenced after admitting in federal court that he tried to have his agent killed as part of a plot that unraveled when the would-be hit man turned out to be a police informant. He could face 7 to 10 years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines. (A hockey player pleading guilty to murder for hire? Wouldn’t that only involve a 5-minute major and maybe a game misconduct?)

THE NEW BOTOX?
Over the centuries women have plastered some pretty extreme ingredients on their skin in the pursuit of youth, including lead, mud, paraffin and nightingale droppings. But Australian company Cat Media’s new anti-aging product may be one of the weirdest yet. A 50 ml jar of its ‘Antarctilyne’ retails for $58 and purportedly contains the wonder ingredient ‘Antarcticine’ which is – a ‘breakthrough protein discovered at the bottom of an Antarctic iceberg’. Just in case you’re skeptical, company ads show photos of cells called ‘extremophiles’ that promise to ‘plump skin without collagen injections’. (Next they’ll be selling pond scum.)

STABLE BOYS:
Mothers in a stable relationship are more likely to give birth to a boy, reveals a new study. The US National Bureau of Economic Research has found that the living arrangements of parents at the time a baby is conceived may play an important role in determining its gender. The findings published in “Proceedings of The Royal Society” support the biological theory that the gender of offspring may vary according to environmental conditions. (So instability equals females? You’d have a tough time selling that one around here.)
