Ah, the Sweet Smell of BS!

There will be no “BS” service for Monday October 8 to observe Canadian Thanksgiving. All subscribers will receive credit for the missed service day.  The Bull Sheet will resume publication on Tuesday, Oct. 9.

★ Asia Argento hit Instagram stories to show off a vengeance tattoo against her former friend Rose McGowan. And she’s not messing around.  Her tattoo is of a bloody dagger. Argento shared two images of the tattoo, one of which said “Bye bye @rosemcgowan:” McGowan and Argento have been publicly feuding since sexual assault allegations were made against Argento by Jimmy Bennett in August.
★ Making movies isn’t always fun and games — sometimes it can get pretty intense. For Emma Stone, filming her scenes for her upcoming 18th century period drama “The Favourite” came with it’s fair share of emotionally taxing moments, some of which even brought her to tears. Stone, an outspoken animal lover, said, “I don’t want to give anything away — but I have to be a little bit aggressive in the end with a bunny.  I cried my eyes out for about an hour.” The Favourite — which also stars Nicholas Hoult, Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Joe Alwyn and “Sherlock” star Mark Gatiss — comes out Nov. 23.
★ Child actor Henry Thomas has spoken out about his decision to take a break from the limelight after shooting to fame at age 11 in “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial”. Thomas says that he voluntarily took a step back from the industry after starring as Elliott in the 1982 film because “the overwhelming fame scared the hell out of my parents and my mother, who was very much into living a rural life, was not pleased at having to pack up and go off with me.”
(She was aware that she could “phone home”, wasn’t she?)
★ Rebel Wilson has hinted that “Pitch Perfect 4” might be in the works. Wilson, who played Fat Amy in film series, celebrated real-life couple Skylar Astin and Anna Camp’s birthdays at a party on Saturday night. Afterward, she uploaded a photo of herself and co-stars Brittany Snow, Camp and Chrissie Fit all holding four fingers up to the camera, with a caption of four red heart emojis. Many fans of the franchise have speculated the photo is an indication that a fourth installment might be happening.

• Bruce Springsteen – A Boss fan was bilked out of nearly $12,000 after developing a year-long relationship over Facebook with a man she thought was him.  The woman says that the two exchanged flirty text messages and photos over the course of a year, and the Springsteen impersonator told her that he was getting a divorce and his wife had locked his accounts and that needed money, preferably in the form of iTunes gift cards.
• Paul McCartney — A Winnipeg couple got the surprise of a lifetime when Macca came riding through their wedding photos. The photographer was snapping pictures on Saturday afternoon when Paul and his bodyguards came cycling by. McCartney shook hands with the couple and posed for photos before he carried on.
• Fleetwood Mac – new guitarist and ex-Heartbreaker Mike Campbell says Stevie Nicks persuaded him to play Tom Petty’s ‘Free Fallin’’ with his new band.  He says, “I love that song, but I’ve just played it so much. I said to her, ‘Do we have to?’ She said, ‘The crowd will love it. It’ll be a moment.’ So, I’m getting into it again.”
• Garth Brooks – His wife Trisha Yearwood is inviting fans to party with her before Garth’s concert at Notre Dame Stadium on Oct. 20.  She will host Trisha’s Tailgate, where for $65, fans can sample her recipes and cocktails, as well as check out furniture and accessories from her home collection. (So they can spend even more money!)
• Las Vegas and many in the country community marked the one-year anniversary of the Route 91 Harvest festival massacre with a moment of silence on Monday. And the lights of the hotel and casino signs on the Las Vegas Strip went dark on Monday evening at 10:01 p.m./PT. Fifty-eight people were killed and more than 500 injured when a gunman opened fire on a crowd watching Jason Aldean perform at the country music festival on October 1st, 2017.

Are you lucky enough to have a ‘work-wife’? Or a ‘work-husband’?  If so, you might be aware that you get more benefits from that relationship than sharing eye-rolls at colleagues and encouraging each other to buy ridiculously expensive lunches.  And I’m not talking about THAT kind of benefit, either.  A study shows that those of us with strong work friendships are more likely to be properly engaged at work, and feel more encouraged to fulfill their potential and create better results for their employer.  Apparently, it boils down to an “in it together” attitude that leads to increased productivity.  Employees who socialize with co-workers tend to be happier at work, stay at their jobs longer, be more creative, and enjoy more success in their careers.
(And for the sake of your career, if that friend is your boss, then all the better!)
(Hey, the more friends, the more people to share the blame…)
(It doesn’t say that your work friend has to be the opposite sex, but hey, it can’t hurt!)

If you are a guy looking for love online, here is some promising news.  New findings show that you don’t have to have chiseled abs and the face of a movie star to attract interest from potential dates.  In the biggest research project of its kind, Oxford University analyzed 150,000 heterosexual online dating profiles and a decade’s worth of communication data from dating site eHarmony, and found that “average” looking men receive more messages from women.  Straight women are more likely to message men who rate themselves as 5/10 for attractiveness than men who believe they’re a solid 10, likely because they’re perceived as being more faithful and reliable.  For women, it’s most important to show yourself to be athletic if you want to generate interest.  Presenting yourself as romantic and altruistic is also likely to increase your chances.
(Revenge of the Dad-bod?)
(That was on dating sites.  Tinder was a whole different ballgame!)
(Average looks is fine…as long as you have ‘above-average’ income!)
(Just in case you were wondering what they do with those silly little messages you send to someone you see on a dating site…)

Do you make your bed?  Every morning?  Or just on weekends?  And what does that say about you?  According to a survey of 2,000 Americans conducted by OnePoll, those of us who make our beds each morning are more likely to be “morning people” who wake up without needing an alarm. These people tend to nap for an average of 43 minutes daily, and are more likely to enjoy jazz music—as well as “House Hunters” and romantic films.  What about the rest of us?  If you don’t make your bed most mornings, you are likely to be someone who hits the snooze button, and naps for a staggering average of 50 minutes daily (must be nice). You are more likely to enjoy rock music, watch “Seinfeld” and oldie movies.  60 percent of respondents claimed that they make their beds every day, while 40 percent said they do not make their beds most mornings.
(I’ll start making my bad as soon as I start getting an allowance for it again!)
(I’m not an early-bird, but I do get up just early enough that my wife has to make the bed!)
(And I suppose these freakos make their beds again after their naps, too!)
