BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★Amy Schumer creatively shared the news Monday that she is expecting her first child with her husband, chef Chris Fischer. Schumer had former CNN chief White House correspondent Jessica Yellin announce the news in an Instagram story. Yellin said: “I wanted to share some news from our community…I’m not in the business of making voting recommendations, but these are the recommendations of Amy Schumer…Now read all the way to the bottom, you’ll see there’s some news down there. Congratulations, Amy.” Down below, there was a list of Schumer’s picks for the midterm elections, followed by: “I’m pregnant-Amy Schumer.” Schumer directed followers to an official announcement with a photo of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle that had Schumer’s and Fischer’s faces superimposed on it.

★ Chris Hemsworth picked up a hitchiker…and gave him a helecoptor ride! Hemsworth and his buddy were driving in Australia to catch a coptor ride to his home when they spotted a man on the side of the road. Scott Hildebrand, a travelling musician, couldn’t believe his luck when the “Avengers” star took him to the waiting chopper, and even helped him with his headset. Video shows Hemsworth and his friend surprising the musician with the news that he’s getting a literal “lift,” and the clip soon cuts to a shot of Hildebrand in the helicopter with his guitar.
(Did it occur to Chris that maybe the guy was just giving him the “thumbs-up”?)

★ Kim Kardashian is opening up about her traumatic experience of being robbed in Paris in 2016. During the incident, Kim was bound and gagged in her hotel room by five men dressed as police, and the thieves got away with $6.1 million worth of jewelry. On The Alec Baldwin Show, she said, “There was a lot of me that measured who I was by how much I had. I thought, ‘Oh, I’m worth so much.’” After the robbery, she says, “that changed in me. And, that needed to change in me, so I’m grateful for the experience.” Kardashian also said that she has much more protection now, with “six security [guards] outside of our house at all times, and a few security when I travel, always 24/7 outside my door.”

★ The family of late Australian conservationist and “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin are following in his footsteps with a new television show dedicated to their wildlife conservation work. “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” will follow Irwin’s wife Terri and their two children, Bindi and Robert, looking after animals at their Australia Zoo in Queensland and heading out on various expeditions. “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” debuts on Oct. 28 on Animal Planet.

★ In news that will come as a shock to no one, “Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3” will not start shooting next month, as originally planned. The future of the franchise has been uncertain ever since director James Gunn was fired by Disney in July – with almost everybody involved in the first two films rallying to offer Gunn support (and even threatening to leave the MCU altogether). Four months later, Gunn has officially moved over to DC, and Guardians of The Galaxy Vol. 3 is still without a director.

BS MUSIC NOTES:
• Drake — has passed The Beatles for most Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 hits in a year. His appearance on Bad Bunny’s ‘MIA’ (currently at #5) marks Drake’s 12th top 10 of 2018. The Beatles banked 11 in their breakout year, 1964.
• The Weeknd – As part of his initiative to give a boost to young creatives in Toronto through his involvement with talent incubation space HXOUSE, he has announced a headlining performance to celebrate the space’s launch. As part of “Open HXOUSE,” he’ll perform at Toronto’s ‘Rebel’ club on November 6, alongside his XO crewmate NAV, Bryson Tiller and the Neighbourhood.
• Sir Elton John – His husband David Furnish has fired back at Roger Daltrey’s claims that Elton has ignored requests to perform at “Teenage Cancer Trust” charity shows, explaining: “…Every time Roger has asked, we have responded. The reason Elton has not been able to support is because he has been in Las Vegas doing his residency.”
• Ozzy Osbourne — is already excited to return to the stage after cancelling tour dates due to surgery for a hand infection. He’s been forced to push back his North American run until 2019 in order to recover, and told Rolling Stone: ”I was really looking forward to doing the Hollywood Bowl. I’m going to make those shows up next year. It could have been a lot worse. I could have been dead.”
• Red Hot Chili Peppers — Frontman Anthony Kiedis cussed out a Houston Rockets staff member at the Lakers game on Saturday after a brawl on the court. As Chris Paul was being escorted off the court, Kiedis — a Lakers superfan — was screaming at him from his courtside seats. A Rockets staffer came over to verbally check Kiedis — but Anthony wasn’t having it and according to witnesses, he flipped the guy off and shouted obscenities.
• Billy Idol — is being sued for allegedly standing up a fan. Juliana Berg claims he invited her to a meet-and-greet, his concert and his hotel room in Las Vegas two years ago, but ditched her. She is asking for ticket and travel costs, plus money for the “extreme emotional distress” that she suffered.
• Dan + Shay — have announced a headlining tour for 2019. “Dan + Shay The Tour” starts Feb. 28 in New Orleans, La., and is currently scheduled to wrap up with a mini-swing through western Canada in mid-April.
• Tracy Byrd’s – His keyboard player was injured when a lighting rig crashed to the stage as they were wrapping up a show in Texas on Saturday night. Vernon Emshoff was taken to the hospital after the band lifted the light rig off of him. He required stitches for wounds to his head and was later released.
ALARM TECH:
If you’re one of the many for whom a regular alarm clock just doesn’t cut it, then “Alarmy” and “Step Out!”, the world’s most annoying smartphone apps, are just for you. Alarmy is for Android, and Step Up! is for iOS, but they work pretty much identically. Basically, they make the ‘snooze’ button the stuff of dreams, because once their alarms are engaged, they make you WORK to turn them off. First, you take a picture of anything in your house. Then, you set your wake time, just like any smartphone alarm. But when the ringer goes off, the only way to shut it off is by taking a picture that closely matches the original shot. If you take a snapshot of your bathroom sink, your alarm will wait until you’re standing right in front of it. By then, you’re fully awake and standing exactly where you should be. Each app also has an alternate mode. For Alarmy, you can set the clock to “math mode,” where you have to answer an algebra equation. Step Out! Gives you the option of setting a number of steps that you’ll be required to walk in order to shut off the alarm. Alarmy is a free download. Step Out! costs two bucks.
(Better not use a selfie for that photo – ‘cause most mornings I look NOTHING like I did the night before!)
(But first these things have to actually wake me!)
(Getting up early…there’s a nap for that!)

McHACK:
According to a McDonald’s employee who decided to share his company’s secrets on the question-and-answer website Quora, here is the secret to being served a hot, fresh meal at McDonald’s every time: Kamran Adnan worked at a number of McD locations, and he wrote that between 12-2pm and 5-7pm, they have what is called “Gapbuster Times”, during which they can get a visit from a “gapbuster” (or mystery shopper). This means that, at any point during these hours, it’s possible that a customer will enter who has been paid to come there and rate their experience. Of course, the store manager will do everything possible to ensure this rating is positive. Gapbusters will always ask for their receipt in order to be refunded the cost of their meal. That means, when a customer comes in between these times and wants their receipt, employees are on instant alert that this person could be a gapbuster. If you ask for a receipt during these time frames, “They’ll make sure to serve you the freshest burger and fries and give you priority over everyone else.” So, be sure to ask for a receipt, and thank you for dining at McDonald’s!
(Or ask for a “special order”, so they have to make your burger just for you. Problem is, by the time it’s ready, your fries are cold and your kids are in the Mcplayroom!)
(Does this work in the drive-thru?)
(Shouldn’t we actually ask for a “Mc-receipt”?)
