Good Morning, Sheetheads!

BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:

★ The Toronto mansion from the show “Schitt’s Creek” is up for sale again, but this time, it’s listed for almost $7 million dollars more. The mansion is featured in the comedy as the residence the Rose family lives in before it’s revealed they’ve lost their fortune and must start fresh. In February, the home, in Toronto’s St. Andrew Windfields neighborhood, was listed for just under $15 million. Now? $21.9 million. Last November, the motel featured in Schitt’s Creek, known on TV as the “Rosebud Motel”, hit the market for $2 million.

★ Declaring “Enough is enough,” former Batwoman star Ruby Rose has come forth with a new wave of allegations about the circumstances leading to her exit from the Warner Bros. TV series — and insists she didn’t “quit”, but was forced out. In a series of Instagram Stories posted early Wednesday, Rose led off by tagging Batwoman showrunner Caroline Dries plus exec producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter, saying, “I will come for you so what happened to me never happens to another person again. And so I can finally take back my life and the truth. Shame on you.”
-TVLine
★ Alyssa Milano was arrested on Tuesday during a voting rights protest at the White House. She was demonstrating with the organization People for the American Way, the nonprofit founded by TV producer Norman Lear in 1980. The group’s president Ben Jealous was also arrested during the protest. In a tweet, Milano said she was “arrested for demanding the Biden Administration and the Senate to use their mandate to protect voting rights.”

★ After 3 years of sobriety, Cheryl Burke has shared new details about what her life was like before she quit drinking. The “Dancing with the Stars” pro opened up about her experiences with alcoholism and sobriety on the “Heart of the Matter” podcast, saying she “was a ballroom-by-day type girl and then party- or club-goer at night — for 10 years in a row.” Burke said that when she started drinking at age 21 after moving to LA, her life was quickly consumed by alcohol. She would drink with an “all or nothing” approach and was often “super mean” to herself, which made her drink more, noting that her tolerance for alcohol eventually reached a point where she said, “nothing got me drunk.”

The father-son duo virtually performed at the annual benefit, which honored Jaden Smith and Amariyanna Copeny, aka “Little Miss Flint,” for their “environmental justice advocacy”.
• Foo Fighters — Dave Grohl laughed off the “bad reviews” of their Bee Gees covers record. They renamed themselves the Dee Gees and released renditions of ‘Night Fever’, ‘Tragedy’, and other Gibb classics on the LP “Hail Satin” earlier this year. He says it was just a fun thing to do amid the pandemic, which is why he was shocked when critics went in hard on the project.
• Madonna — has almost finished writing the script for her biopic. In a series of selfies posted to Instagram, including a shot with 3 of her kids, she wrote: “Grateful for the success of Madame (X, her latest album), that my script is almost finished, and for the support of my beautiful children!”

Brown then launched into a faithful rendition of ‘Three Wooden Crosses’, a hit for Travis in 2002. Both artists were honorees at the 2021 CMT Artists of the Year ceremony the previous Wednesday.  LINK: https://tinyurl.com/rsc4yfnr
• Brittney Spencer – The rising artist will kick-off her first headlining tour Dec. 2 in New York City. The “In a Perfect World Tour” will also include stops in Washington, D.C., and the singer’s hometown of Baltimore, part of a 15-city tour winding down on Feb. 12 in Memphis. The club tour takes its name from lyrics in her current single ‘Sober & Skinny’.

SHOOTING THE BULL

TODAY’S MOVIE OPENINGS:
• “Dune” (PG-13, Adventure): A brilliant young man born into a destiny beyond his understanding, must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and people. As malevolent forces explode into conflict over the planet’s exclusive supply of the most precious resource in existence, only those who can conquer their own fear will survive. (Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya)
• “Ron’s Gone Wrong” (PG, Family/Comedy): The story of Barney, an awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device. Ron’s malfunctions, set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them on a journey of learning about true friendship. (Zach Galifianakis, Ed Helms)
• “The French Dispatch” (R-Rated, Drama/Comedy): A love letter to journalists set in an outpost of an American newspaper in a fictional 20th century French city that brings to life a collection of stories published in “The French Dispatch Magazine”. (Benicio Del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton)

NO SQUIDDING:
Word came out earlier that online searches for “Squid Game costume” are vastly outpacing searches for other film and TV character costumes. According to a study conducted by Design Bundles, costumes from the show account for one-third of the top 11 most popular costume searches in the US. That was crazy enough. Now get ready for THIS: A “Sexy Squid Game” costume is officially on the market. Selling for $99.99, the lingerie and clubwear retailer Yandy’s “Met Your Match Watchmen Costume” riffs on the jumpsuits that the gun-toting guards of Squid Game wear. The all-in-one suit is slimmed down to body-hugging proportions and updated in hot pink. Details including fingerless gloves, a holster-belt-garter, and face mask printed with a diamond finish off the look.
(And there you have it – the first time I’ve ever used the words “sexy” and “Squid” in the same sentence.  In public, at least…)
(A hundred bucks is a lot, but maybe you can make some kind of deal — you know, squid pro quo…)

NEWS OF THE WEIRD:
➢ A Wisconsin farmer grew a 2,520-pound (1143kg) pumpkin believed to be the heaviest grown in the US this year, only to have it disqualified from competition due to a crack. Mike Schmit of Markesan he has been growing giant pumpkins for years, but this year is the first time one of his gourds surpassed 2,500 pounds. It was disqualified from competition due to a fingernail-sized crack in the vegetable’s exterior. The pumpkin could have earned Schmit a $22,680 prize from 2021 Safeway World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off in California, which offers a $9-per-pound prize to the winner. (Naw, with that crack, by the time he got it to California, it would have been the size of a gherkin anyway!)
➢ Queen Elizabeth II is Britain’s longest-lived and longest-reigning monarch. But don’t call her an oldie. The 95-year-old has politely declined the honor of being named “Oldie of the Year” by a British magazine. Tuesday, The Oldie magazine published the queen’s response to its suggestion that she follow in the footsteps of former recipients, including former Prime Minister John Major, and actor Olivia de Havilland. A letter from her assistant private secretary reads: “Her Majesty believes you are as old as you feel, as such The Queen does not believe she meets the relevant criteria to be able to accept, and hopes you will find a more worthy recipient.” The letter ended: “with Her Majesty’s warmest best wishes.” (What a great way to convince people that you’re not an oldie: By writing a letter!)

DID YOU KNOW?
Elon Musk is not only the richest person in the world, he is now worth as much as fellow billionaires Bill Gates and Warren Buffett COMBINED. The 50-year-old Tesla and SpaceX CEO’s net worth is $230 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Gates sits in 4th place with $130 billion and Buffett is #10 with $102 billion. (But you have to ask, is he really happy? And, of course, he’s tell you – YES!)

• “International Stuttering Awareness Day”, originated in 1998 to raise public awareness of the millions who suffer from the speech disorder. LINK: http://www.stutteringhelp.org
• “Nut Day”. Ask anyone to name a nut, and most will say ‘peanut’, which isn’t a nut at all, but a legume. Definition of a nut: “A hard, dry, indehiscent fruit formed from 2 or more carpels but containing only 1 seed.” It’s one of nature’s most perfect foods. (BTW, ‘indehiscent’ means “not splitting open to release the seeds when ripe”)

• “Croc Day”, crocs are everywhere, from college campuses to fashion runways, on celebrity feet and in the garden. And why not? They’re versatile, vibrant, and most of all, comfortable. (And NEVER the butt of any jokes…)
• “Slap Your Irritating Co-Worker Day”, we’re kidding! (Honest! The HR department told us we are!) But just for fun, here are the rules you must follow…
☞ You can only slap one person per hour – no more.
☞ You can slap the same person again if they irritate you again later in the same day.
☞ You are allowed to hold someone down as other co-workers take their turns slapping the irritant.
☞ No weapons are allowed…other than going upside somebody’s head with a stapler or a hole-puncher.
☞ If questioned by a supervisor [or police, if the supervisor is the irritant], you are allowed to LIE, LIE, LIE! (We don’t recommend that you actually slap anyone, but sometimes it sure is nice to think about it…)

BS SIGNS YOUR HOUSE IS HAUNTED:

• The phrase “If these walls could talk” isn’t just a saying at your place.
• At midnight, you hear a voice that says “Get out!”, and for once, it’s not your wife.
• When you bought it, there was a “Haunted House for Sale” sign in the front yard.
• There are actual skeletons in the closet.
• Your kids’ Halloween treats disappear. (It’s gotta be a ghost…honest!)
• There is a vehicle marked “Mystery Machine” with a bunch of meddling kids and a Great Dane in it, parked out front.
• The ghost dragging the dead corpses around tells you it’s haunted.
• Someone hired a bunch of C-level actors and made a crappy movie about it.
• Ectoplasm on the stairs!

TODAY’S SCOOP OF BS:
➠ The CDC says Flu Season has arrived and we should all get vaccinated. (Another way to avoid flu is by washing your hands after touching things where lots of hands have been, like doorknobs, grocery carts, and Travis Barker…)
➠ It’s just over a week until Halloween 2021. (Ah! That one night of the year when I buy bags upon bags of chocolate treats, turn off my porch light . . . and act like I’m not home!)
➠ Despite the pandemic, millions of kids will go trick-or-treating this year. (And not ONE of them will look through their bag afterwards and say: “YES! A toothbrush!!”)
➠ I just read that Dennis Rodman’s father has 29 children with 16 different women. (Who knew Rodman’s father also played in the NBA?)
➠ Kourtney Kardashian and rock drummer Travis Barker are engaged. (Who cares? Let me know when the Honeymoon Video is leaked…)
