BS SHOW BIZ BUZZ:
★ Get ready for a lot more action from the Scottish Highlands. “Outlander” has been picked up for 2 more seasons by STARZ channel. The current season wraps in July; the 3rd season kicks off in April. Next season will be based on “Voyager”, the 3rd of the 8 books in Diana Gabaldon’s best-selling “Outlander” book series. ★ “Sharknado 4” is coming! Here’s what’s new in the SYFY channel franchise, which combines sharks and tornadoes in the campiest of ways: There is the title, “Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens”; a new location in the form of Las Vegas; and the addition of Gary Busey, David Hasselhoff, Stacey Dash, and Vince Neil to the cast. Ian Ziering returns as ‘Fin’ and Tara Reid as ‘April’. The new trailer includes a scene in which a Chippendales-like dancer fends off a flying shark … with his crotch. The new episode debuts July 31st.

★ TV actress Ellen Pompeo has signed a deal to keep her on “Grey’s Anatomy”. Though specific terms of her new pact haven’t been revealed, it’s believed that she is now one of the highest-paid actresses on the small-screen. In 2015, “Forbes” estimated her salary at $11.5 million. “Grey’s Anatomy” just wrapped its 12th season as ABC-TV”s #1 drama and biggest success story. After Patrick Dempsey left last season, 18-49 ratings went up by 6%.

★ And the 1991 learn-to-paint show hosted by the guy with the oh-so-soothing voice, Bob Ross, is now streaming on Netflix. Ross, who died in 1995 at age 52, is best known for “The Joy of Painting”, the PBS-TV series he hosted 1983-94 on which he taught viewers how to paint landscapes. “Beauty is Everywhere”, filmed in 1991, follows the same format, but also includes appearances from his … pet squirrel. All 25 episodes are now available on Netflix as part of the streaming service’s June offerings. Hear him things like “Let’s get crazy, what the heck” here …

SUITING UP FOR SUMMER:
Just 6% of women think they look ‘terrific’ in a bathing suit according to a magazine poll. And furthermore, 68% of women think that men should worry more about how they look in swim trunks. (How come the guys who have the balls to wear a skimpy Speedo are the ones who really shouldn’t?)
– “Redbook”

AS IF WE DON’T SEE ENOUGH POSERS:
A statue of 2 girls taking a selfie that’s been installed in Sugar Land TX has residents reaching for their phones … but not to take a photo. “I’m embarrassed for everyone,” one person tweets. “This is why people hate the young generation! Stupid things like this,” another has posted on Facebook. The statue, located in front of City Hall, is part of a 10-piece collection donated to the city. That at least has headed off arguments that the selfie statue is a waste of taxpayer money. (People are no doubt now taking selfies in front of ‘The Selfie’.)
– “Houston Chronicle”

SKEETER BEATERS DON’T WORK:
There are about 170 species of mosquitoes in North America alone. Studies show that citronella candles ward off only around half of the mosquitoes that are lurking about, and 90% of the ‘zaps’ from an electronic ‘bug zapper’ are actually harmless bugs getting fried, not skitters. (Our advice, try napalm.)

BE THE FRENCH CHEF:
The French cottage that late, great chef Julia Child built with funds from the 2nd volume of her cookbook “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” is up for rent on Airbnb. The Provence home where Child spent her Summers for 3 decades comes complete with a little black book full of recommendations for the best local butchers and fishmongers, as well as careful instructions on how to use her erratic oven. The book, like everything else in the kitchen, is just as Child left it – except for the oven – which has been replaced with a state-of-the-art model. The property rents for $628 per night … for a minimum of 5 nights. (Ouch, c’est très cher!)
– “Conde Nast Traveler”

DID YOU KNOW?
People who watch porn more than once a week are likely to be more religious than those who watch it only a couple of times a month. (They are apparently forgiven.)
