★ Tonight “Modern Family” (ABC) becomes the first TV show to feature an openly transgender child actor. 8-year-old Jackson Millarker appears as ‘Tom’, a friend of ‘Lily Tucker-Pritchett’ (Aubrey Anderson-Emmons) in the episode entitled “A Stereotypical Day”. “Modern Family”, which stars Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Julie Bowen, and Ty Burrell, has won 22 Emmy Awards since its debut in 2009. Other TV shows with transgender characters played by transgender actors include Laverne Cox’s ‘Sophia Burset’ in “Orange Is the New Black”, and Jen Richards on “Nashville”.

★ Rapper 50 Cent has been hit with another copyright infringement lawsuit over his TV show “Power”. Aspiring TV writers R Byron Hord & Curtis Scoon have filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court against Fiddy, who produces and features in the crime drama, as well as cable network Starz and its parent company CBS. They claim the idea for “Power” was taken from a pilot script for a TV show called “Dangerous”, which they wrote in late 2009. 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson) and the network face up to $180,000 in fines per episode, of which there have been 27.

★ Actress Sarah Jessica Parker is suggesting a return to the screen for “Sex & The City” isn’t out of the question. The 51-year-old has revealed that the show – revolving around the lives of 4 New Yorkers: ‘Carrie’, ‘Miranda’, ‘Samantha’, and ‘Charlotte’ – could return in either film or TV form. Quote: “I don’t think any of us have said no. I don’t know whether it’s a series or the movie.” The HBO show aired 1998-2004 and spawned movie versions in 2008 and (horrifically) in 2012.

★ And movie star Leonardo Dicaprio has put his Studio City, California bachelor pad on the market just days after listing his home in Malibu. “The Revenant” actor is asking just under $2.4 million for the 4-bedroom home he bought in 2014. The ranch-style property comes with a state-of-the-art kitchen, a large yard, and a pool. But don’t worry, Leo’s not homeless. DiCaprio, who is dating supermodel Nina Agdal, still has yet another Los Angeles property in the Hollywood Hills.

• The Eagles – A life-size bronze statue of late Eagles star Glenn Frey has been unveiled in a Winslow, Arizona park. The location is a nod to the band’s 1972 hit “Take It Easy”, which features the lyric “standing on a corner in Winslow, Arizona/Such a fine sight to see”.
• Garth Brooks – The Recording Industry Association of America has announced he’s become the first artist to land 7 Diamond Awards for record sales. Diamond status designates sales of 10 million units. He now has 1 more Diamond certification than The Beatles.
• Lil Wayne – He has been ordered to give producer David Banner $164,000 after allegations the rapper failed to pay him for work on the 2008 album “Tha Carter III”. Banner first sued the hip hop star’s Young Money Records label in July last year.
• Mariah Carey – She is getting ready to wrap up her residency at Las Vegas’ Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace. Her last 9 shows take place in late April and mid-May. Since May of 2015, Carey has played 50 shows at the venue.
• Spice Girls – Apparently Cruz Beckham intends to “follow in his mother, Victoria’s, musical
footsteps”. So as a lip-sync mime, then?
• U2 – They have a gig for customer-relationship firm Salesforce on October 5th, when they play at the company’s annual conference. Does this mean they’re selling out … or just in the twilight of their long-running career?

ELDERLY OLYMPICS:
12 retirement homes in Switzerland’s northwest canton of Jura have sent teams to innovative seniors’ games, where elderly people face off in 5 disciplines. From hammering nails into a block of wood to walking a slalom, brick building, giant darts, and shooting into a basketball hoop, over 120 men and women have participated. The event is organized by the JURAncien association, which oversees the region’s retirement homes. By the way, competitors pledge to compete “without doping and without drugs” … although perhaps not without medication. (One of the more popular events … ‘Guess if Your Hat is On’.)
